By practicality I meant how the rev.7 is currently layed out. I agree running the lipo down the centre will cause more headaches with layout of the electrics and still maintaining balance.

My question was their a difference between offset and a centrally located battery in terms of handling and performance but clearly their isn't. Did you notice a difference in feel from the car?

Do you mean centrally, as in the last configuration (east/west as Dave called it.) ? Like the Rev 6?

If so, the current inline layout carries more speed through the corner and feels more efficient over all. It makes the car faster in spec/stock. For myself, I had a solid Rev5L, weekend prior to the Rev7 37 laps was the fastest I could run (and many others) on our track. With the new car 37 came very easily and 38 was the new benchmark. We are hitting 39/40 now.

I found the new inline to be easier to get a left/right weight balance. Before I was always heavy on one side, and the car was heavier. Now I'm barely above minimum weight and the car is absolutely perfectly balanced left/right.

Why the old school adjustable links over the non-adjustable CF links?

I thought the non-adjustable CF links were an improvement. How does adjusting the links change or improve handling?

They don't change the handling. Some of us just do not have the carbon links. My car is so near minimum weight I'm not sure if I could even afford the weight loss to install them.

There is no advantage to the adjustable link.

When I order my rev.7 kit Monday, when should I expect it by?

Thanks in advance!

A few questions regarding the Tamale Pods.

1) What is the resolution with which the rear axle height can be adjusted? With the standard inserts/pills, we are able to change the height .25mm at a time.

2) How does the weight of the adjustable pod compare to that of the standard pod? It seems to be using larger bearings and has more aluminum than the standard style bulkheads... is their a negligible weight difference? Or something more?

Thanks.

The tamale bulkheads are adjustable in 0.5mm Steps. You might be able to get .25mm steps with the crc inserts but I find the quality of them insufficient... I have yet to find a car the they fit to my standards (either way sloppy or way tight). So the trade off is a non issue for me.

And in case you are worried about bias because I'm sponsored by SM... I still had to pay for my sets of bulkheads from Tamale.

I have been looking through the setup sheets posted on here, I have a couple of questions.
The side springs are quoted as 'X turns down and tweak' is that from fully up or from just touching? i.e. is that a preload figure?
There has been some discussion on here about using 18 front springs as the prime choice for a Rev 7, but all the setup sheets I have seen show 22 front springs
Is there any logic behind the battery placement, LHS or RHS? is one better for clockwise circuits?
Sorry if these have been answered elsewhere, I couldn't see anything.

Side spring : When turned down a "X" number of turn ,this means from a fully up position ,screwed up fully counterclockwise. The best way is to sit the car on a flat board in a ready to run trim. Then turn them down till they touch the lower pod plate. Car ready to run from there, add preload if you need more mid corner steering .

The kit comes with 20 front springs which work fine . A switch to 22 comes when at a big race , traction gets very high or when running boosted or mod classes.

The batttery switches left to right because the chassis is drilled left and right for two different servo mount spacing .

As Joel V would said " It's good right out of the box"

Not sure where you see talk of 18 fronts. 3 pages back there seems to be talk of 18 SIDE springs. Most common springs for sides is 18/20 and for front 22/20.

Jaco tires have come in again including the new WGT white rim tires.
