futureal,

You couldn't have said it any better, secret race that never occured! If you haven't read it yet, go check out HPI Racing's forum. So far HPI's Frank McKinney has posted the most details about the race that I've found so far. He said pictures and results should be up on tues. Unfortunatly Team Orion won't have any coverage because Oscar went home after the Worlds.

Yup, I've seen all of Frank's (excellent) info. In fact, I've even replied to his thread over there.

Trinity Tech Talk would normally be the place to go for info like this, but as far as I can tell it is down.

izzyracer,

Uh, what? So people from the Ripon area are low income corn farmers who can't afford the hobby? Nice, real nice way to stereotype people.
Masato, your the one who said that, not me! Grow up!

Josh Anderson (local OFF ROADER!!!!) won the 19turn Spec class.

Andrew Swanson won the Open Mod class.

This was by far (IMO) the BEST Reedy Race yet. The removal of one-ways from the event made the racing absolutely tremendous!!!!

I heared they were locking up the front diffs to get a full acceleration on the straights...is that true?

This was THE best race I've ever attended. The Tamiya tack is great. I wish they would let us use it more often. The people at the race were great. Everybody was friendly. Matt Francis IS as cool as everyone says, and I got to meet and watch Craig Dresher race. Damn that guy is fast, and with a stick radio just like Masami.

The only thing more exciting than watching the invitational drivers was listening to Scotty Ernst anounce the race. Scotty did a great job all weekend and worked his butt off. He made the race fun.

Good Job Scotty!!!!

A locked front diff is what got you the fast lap times. It was interesting to see some of the things guys were doing to their cars to get more speed out of them. The Schumacher guys take home the trophy for the most modifications done

There were some computer problems so anything other than the top 3 in Open Mod and Open Spec are only unofficial results right now as the results are being edited. We have the "official" results of the top 10 invitational, and the top three in the other classes. We will be adding more pics and video today.

Nice...unofficial results. Probably should have thought of that BEFORE handing out all the trophies, no???? Isn't a little late now???

Oh well. I have my trophy...I ain't giving it back!!!!

Front diffs...Yes, some where locking, some where just tightening them down to the point of, really, the least amount of diff action you could get. Worked really, really good. I don't know if you could have faster lap times....on this track, it would be really close if you put a one-way car and diff car on the track. The ability to outbreak the one-way car in that first turn would definitely be an advantage.
