ok i have the ta04-r nsx 2002, they chassie it self with no body comes with all the hop-ups the nsx 2002 comnes with, but the nsx 2002 comes with the new light weigth lower carbon renf. deck
(teh one with the holes in teh battery slots) and fluorine coated trf dampers which don't matter as much from teh plain alum. trf dampers.

here are somes pics of my nsx 2002 ta04-r( didn't paint the body yet...still thinking about it):

That's what I was looking for, thanks. What's your set-up, basically stock? Are you running on asphalt, carpet? Thanks again, I almost went with the 04R chassis

Mike-I just looked at speedtech's site and they have the new TA04R Chassis kit and the TA04R Raybrig NSX 2002 kit. In the description, it says that the Raybrig comes with carbon fiber front and rear shock towers. I think the TA04R Chassis kit comes with the plastic shock towers.

hey!!!! how come my didn't come with the nsx 2002 ta04-r carbon fibre front shock tower. maybe they are adding it as a free gift or something cause i got my from hk off ebay.
but the nsx 2002 is a better deal than the ta04-r itself.

yeah that's where I plan on getting it from. I noticed it said carbon fiber front and rear shock towers so I went to the Tamiya site and it doesn't mentioned that it comes with those hop ups so that may be a misprint.

The car doesn't come with cf shock towers in any form. I think the site you saw was incorrect. I wish it did! The stock shock towers are pretty flimsy and the front one only has two shock mount positions which limits you to 4 positions and a pita to change the ones on the lower arms.

You car looks exactly like mine and I just got the plain R without a body. I don't think there is any difference between the R chassis that are being sold today.

I've been playing around with dampening quite a bit on the car and haven't quite figured it out. I'm running the kit 2 hole pistons and it seems like you have to run really light oil even on a pretty smooth track. What oil are you guys running? I initially went with 60 weight oil on a carpet track, but it had too much dampening, so I went down to 40 weight and it still feels over dampened. I talked with a guy running a 414 and he's running 60 weight oil with a 3 hole piston.

Hi Guys,

Sorry about that, it was my mistake. The reason was when I bought my TA04R (used) it came with them (the previous owner added those on) Sorry for the confusion. The NSX 2002 TA04R kit does come with the new FL Coated Low Friction shocks from Tamiya, I checked this spec with Tamiya's website.

Happy New Year!!!

Heres a few pics of a freshly built NSX 2002 without the body.
BTW there are a lot of extras fitted that you won't find in the kit including the shock towers which I have replaced for the CF ones.

I have ordered from Hobbymania and have gotten great service. The shipping is as cheap as it is here and the parts are great. Support this guy he is the real deal. Look a few pages back at my 04r it has about every hoppup that can be bought for the car and it didn't cost very much.
