Yes, the blue/white BMW is the FGX on rubber tires and the Ferrari is the f104W on foam tires. Not sure what compound foam but must be really hard since foam should be more hooked up.

I am the driver of the FGX

Drive out of the corner is where the FGX excels. Took lots of tuning to get it to drive that way. Out of the box it pushed like a dump truck. I broke most of my front ends by going wide all the time and hitting the outside board. Now the control is much better.

I still think the lateral placement of the battery and the weight towards to the rear of the F103 will give it more traction than the F104W in the hands of the same driver.

I'd like to see a really well setup F103 vs an FGX before I fork out for one yet, because the F103 is still legal here in the UK for the SPC-UK.

And I don't think the FGX will ever be, which gets puts me off getting one.

True the F103 can put down better laps, I have a F103 and it is faster but more difficult to drive as consistently.

To me F1 is not about all out performance, the scale looks and driving characteristics is important too. If I really want to go fast I grab the 12th scale.

how are people getting motor and pinion to fit to give a half decent rollout/fdr.
I broke down and bought a new motor that fits right, Thunder Power Z3R-S.

Novak Ballistic fits fine also.

I'm thinking 3racing didn't want to see a silver can motor in there.

The first motor I put in was the 25.5 Ballistic from my VTA. After that a quick search for motors with similar bearing caps and I had a couple choices. I decided to try something different as I heard good things about the Thunder Power.

+1 And yes, no silver can.

The new Reedy sonics should fit, since they look like they'r from the same factory as the Thunder Power.

Turn the pin upside down when building, and only put on the top and bottom e-clips. Havent broken a king pin since starting to do that

If possible could you elaborate on what you tried that worked and even stuff that didnt work to get rid of the understeer please.

Now, why didn't you post that little gem sooner! I had spare arms, but no spare kingpins. Thanks for the tip!

Settings used in the footage:

Front
Ride super soft
3* caster/2* camber/zero toe
.018" springs
ride height 5mm

Rear
Ride super soft
1* camber/2* toe
stock FGX springs 1 hole pistons 80 associated oil with 3 o-rings used as a bump stop between shock body and spring perch to keep the chassis from bottoming in the corners (really want to just get stiffer springs whenever they are available)
Added 1mm shim to the ball end that the shock connects to for more leverage over the suspension (also to make the spring seem stiffer)
6mm ride height.

Mugen 10k diff oil

I could use a touch more on power steering but this set up works well and is very easy to control.
