It will be here tomorrow.

When you order the servo, please choose local pickup(will call) for shipping to avoid the shipping cost.

We'll ship it with the FGX kit.

Thanks.

Just got back from the post office.

Nothing special here, a box with bits:

Something special here.
Big difference in offset compared to Tamiya F103 wheels.
My very rough measurements - 22mm difference on the rear.
Front - even rougher measurement, 10mm difference.

Body looks OK to my yes. Similar to F104 Pro. Has optional sidepods similar to the 104 Pro too.

Looking good!

keep them pictures coming during the assembly.
And please let us know if the "normal" F1 wheels will be possible to mount at all and what the resulting width of the car will be then...

I have been racing for coming up two years now and have never ever broken a wing. The f104 and the f109 are solid cars. I've done many barrell rolls and double back flip cartwheels down the straight after the boost of my tekin rs pro esc kicked in, and never broken a thing.

Even racing indoor on carpet, our track is marked out by pvc pipe, and despite the numerous times ive crashed into the pipes, never broken anything, but have broken a LOT of pipes

I was under the impression that FGX used 12mm touring car style hexes front and rear, similar to HPI's F10.

If that's true, then it would explain the offset difference you're seeing in the wheels.

And it would also bring up the question if the F10 wheels and tires would work. I had an F10 for a while and thought that the Soft option tires worked really well.

It would be logical for them to use the same as the ones they have on the sakura zero.. The drive shafts are the same, search on 3racing webpage for optional parts for FGX and you will find the drive shafts on the third listing page .
in the description is states that the shaft is for zakura zero.
But then again the hexadapters are on a FGX plastic tree

regardless of this would it not be possible to mount a TC hexadapter on the FGX if that is desired?

looked into the manual for the FGX and it does have 12mm HEX adapters, it lists optional parts 3RAC-WX126/PK and 3RAC-WX127/PK whish are adapters 6 and 7 mm thick.

I haven't had time to build mine yet, but Tony Tam brought a built up chassis to TQ last weekend...

I was already impressed with the rear suspension and front wing assembly I had seen in pics before... But when I held it up close and saw how they designed the suspension arms deeply recessed into the wheel, now that looks very scale... The other thing that impressed me was how smooth the rear shock dampening felt... like butter

It's very impressive kit for $125...

Tony also mentioned that the kit gearing option would be too slow with a 21.5 motor to compete with say a direct drive 21.5... But the proper gearing is available ...

I've been racing F1 cars for 15+ years and have broken a few wings...but it isn't so much about breaking them as it is about how much they get bent up and need replacing. And those wings are much more solidly attached to the car than the FGX front wing. The FGX looks to be mounted with only a couple of small screws on a very narrow mount. Combine that with 3Racing's rather soft plastic that they use and I am quite concerned about the wing's durability.
