Maybe piano wire will also work here and keep it's shape?
You'll never catch him without ultra slo mo footage.

The McKune chassis is nice and goes together perfectly. Everything aligns spot on and the finish is flawless. Can't wait to test!
P.S. Note to self: Must sand edges of battery tape slots. I pulled tight to secure the tape and it sliced it like a razor. I'm headed to the hardware store for some emery cloth after work.
P.P.S Get some of the dual lock industrial hook and loop for the nose cone.
P.P.S.S And some Frog tape for paint mask.

I just finished putting together the McKune chassis and I must agree that the build was solid and everything lined up correctly. However, I did notice that the entire front nose section is raised as Troy alluded to, so the end result is that the resting position of the body is raised much higher as well, leaving a large gap above the A arms. I ended up removing the front body post and have no clip to secure the body, but it now looks flush. I do like how the front wing isn't dragging anymore, but I'm erring that I should secure the front nose somehow, perhaps shaving down the bottom of the body post before screwing on to the carbon plate, or lowering the entire carbon plate by a couple millimeters..

So Thanks to Troy I've got about 5 to 10 packs through my McKune FGX and knocked off 3/10ths off my best, to get it down to a 14.107 here at TZII. we finally got our first 13.9 this sunday by Mark in his F-104 but only one glory lap and Troy through down 14.0 flats..... so I'm just waiting on my new Batt and when I get that damn Chichane right I know I got a flat in my future.
I will say you really see the advantage of the FGX over the 104 when the grip is lower but as the bite comes up the Cars really gets sucked down to the carpet, but we're working on that and look forward to a few more packs through the car today...
Here are a few photos Troy got done this weekend, and we'll have a more kits in this week...

Really looking forward the ECC this weekend in Seattle then off to the Carpet Nat's...
PS: the blown up Ballistic last week was a failed cermaic end bell bearing on the new cool vented system I had just put on... lasted 5 or so runs????

I figured it out, the hole that I made in the body is too far forward and I incorrectly drilled it althought it seemed like it fit fine on the plastic chassis.. So when I put the front body post on, it bends the body because the distance between the post openings are a tad bit too close. I will carve out the upper side of the existing opening so that it rests without any body torqing.
On a sad note, I took all of these pictures for the transition to the McKune chassis but my crappy memory card cracked in half and now it won't recognize on my computer!! Pissed I tell ya..
