If I get flamed, oh well. Look at how a lot of guys with plate chassis cars secure their cells. Tape! I used to do it when I ran a Losi. Talk about a pain. But it balanced the car better so I did it.

The battery is not directly in contact with the graphite. Remember there is the labels that protect it somewhat. With the XXX-S, the cell's end could possibly touch the backbone of the car. Most people also use plastic cell shrink on each cell to add extra protection.

Electrical tape on both sides between the graphite chassis and the battery tray will solve that problem ....kinda like the setup on the xxx buggies and trucks where you put insulating tape along the edges

I was talking about strapping tape to hold the cells in. Not tape to insulate the cells.

Let's not forget that if those two battery bars on each end where you'll hardwire hit that chassis. You'll short the battery. Better to be safe than sorry, no?

I have never once seen any of the Losi guys put tape anywhere on the chassis or the battery. So im thinking it is out of harms way.

I guess its a good thing when the worse thing people are worried about is how to get the battery in.
