I had a Hara Hammer and I thought it was the cat's meow. Wish I hadn't sold it. My rear end was silky smooth but that's another story

Really an interesting one...
I start to be involved in RC in 1980 at 14. After Tamiya "the" racing was 1/12...
Something from my personal museum
Associated Toj, originally used by Mike Lavacot at Euros 1984...
Associated Lola T600 (in the back ground).
Both were extremely competitive bodies..
Parma Schkee plus the 1/10 version...
Schkee was hot as it was having an huge rear load and we were racing on polished marble with tyres covered with silicone
Beloved cars...
In the back ground a "phil greeno gemini home made copy"... Those Ushaped lexan chassis were rather fragile in the cold mornings. So may father bought some lexan and made some spare chassis for me.
In the fore ground... the Ushape evolution. Made in 1mm thick carbon fiber
Carbon fiber start to appear also in F1 and that "alpha track" (austrian firm I believe) was so sophisticated to me...
And now...
the ponies!
All are Igarashi motor. The blue is a "proslot", the other two are Parma "massaged" version...

It was a guy called Alan Blakeman from Leicester.
Most of the moulded chassis he did were black fibreglass, only a few specials had any carbon content, even those were carbon/fiberglass composite.
I will have to get some pics up of my collection, got so many now I daren't count.

Actually this car looks like the older Lexan cars. You donīt know someone who wants selling such cars?

I think, jut my opinion of course, that those years were, in a way, better than today.
Not only for being younger myself... there was a lot on creativity, some level of ingenuity and some "being naive", which has really improved the cars.
Today, with touring cars, we yell as hysteric girls for a chassis 1mm wider than the other....
