The dampener disc worked great. I used a Hammer 12 top pod plate because it is a lot stiffer and cut out to make it actually slightly lighter.

Tim just ran his first round and the car is looking good. Hector will be running in a little while and I still have an hour or so til I can run my 1/12.

I have just got my conversion kit and have built up the car at the weekend. I will be wanting to give it its first race next Friday.
Can any of you recommend a setup for low grip carpet racing with 19t spec motors.

Here's what I would start at for a low bite situation.

Front:
-new front end 10 deg blocks .018 springs
-I always start with the upper arms in the middle and then tune from there.
-Purple ot magenta front tires.

Rear:
-.063 t-bar or medium silva spring steel. .010 shim under front pivot
-trinity red in the tubes or if you use
the dampener disc setup, use 100wt shock oil.
-gray tires or white if spinning out.
-asc blue spring with 25wt oil.
-Harder the spring, the more off power
steering through corners due to weight transfer.

Body:
Parma speed 8 or if you want a lot of downforce, use the cefx body.

In 19T, I usually roll the car out at 1.85"/rev

Hope this helps,
Tim

Thanks for the info Tim.
The only thing that suprised me a bit was the blue shock spring.
That is quite a bit heavier than the green I run on my L3.
Are you using the middle fixing on the T bar?

We run the blue spring on smooth tracks , adds steering , if some bumps , soften it up . Roll out by how tight the layout is , 1.8 is a good starting point for 19 t.

Doug , It was cool to meet you this weekend , my car was good enough to go third in my main with some clean driving , still mad about missing it !!!!!!

Bob

Hector , you guys make it home OK ?

I am somewhat down not having done better. I had a rough week. I had fun with the group, just wish I would have been feeling better.
I make it up to the team at the snow birds.

Has anyone here run springs in/on their damper tubes with a Q12? Pros? Cons?

Thanks

I haven't tried springs on the tubes but I have tested a chassis brace/bottom plate combo that uses springs and adjusters. Works great!

It was a blast, that's all that I can say. I had more fun mingling than racing this year. It was cool meeting all of you and finally putting a face to a name.

Thanks for the cold also. I've been sniffling and coughing for days now. Ugh. Talk to ya later brotha!
