Best onroad rubber tires for asphalt
#2
I've used Jacos, MuchMore and SpeedMinds. Solaris tires seem to be the best ones.

Sorex and LRP is great tire

Sorex32's or CS27's are good , but for me it has to be the Sweep EXP30's
#5
I use VTEC 27 and 30 for standard conditions , Sorex 36 for extremely hot and Sweep 24 for a bit colder weather . All work great , but currently none of them have grip at my track so we are all using foams now

Thats the problem with just asking" Which is the best tire" It depends to much on your local track, and how you have your car setup. Personally I like sorex (all compounds, but really like 36's). Other guys have a preference for jaco blues.
Just stick with a good name brand, that produces a quality tire, and you should be okay. Ask some of the other local racers what they are using.

team powers 38r
Sorry to jack this thread but my question is simple , didnt feel the need to start a new thread . Anyone used the team powers 38r tires ? How much difference then the 36's as far as grip goes. Racing in outdoor low to medium grip asphalt track in summer heat 90°f to 105°f on average ! Team power 36's are what we normally use but I found a great deal on the 38r tires. Thanks

The team powers 38r tires work on our track up here (Northen Alberta Canada) in late july and early august. We have about three to four weeks a year were the track temps get high enough for them to work. I use team powers 36r the rest of the time.

Has anyone tried GRP rubber 1/10 sedan wheels and tires for top speed runs 120+ mph? Many including me have great success with GRP 1/8 rubber but I have never seen anyone use their 1/10 rubber.
Personally, I have never had very good luck with 1/10 rubber tires at anything over about 85 mph. They just dont want to stay on the rims. I now use exclusively foam tires but I miss the grip of rubber.
