Did any of you guys have problems with the DCJ's being too long? I have the front of my car spaced out 1.5mm in the front at the arm mount and the DCJs still bind when the suspension is moved up and down.

Try 2mm spacing. This is the standard spacing for the 6.1.

I've run 1.5mm before, but with the slipper spool, are you running the new spool by chance?

In any case, personally, I never run anything under 2.0mm. And now with the RSD6, I am at 3.5FF and 3.0FR spacing. The car still has plenty of steering which baffles me. I got this from Mike G at the carpet nats and when I tried it on asphalt, I liked it so I have not changed it. The ROAR carpet nats was the last time I ran a regular TC6.1 though...

Joe, Mike, Will, thanks for the help and feedback.

Matt, thanks for the tips.

The shimming that is talked about is the front suspension blocks. TheDcj's are designed for the 6.1 stock offset blocks which are 2mm offset (or the old blocks with 2mm spacing).

Hope this helps.

DCJ's are installed and I can't wait for my first race with them. I also built my shocks with with the soft bladders and all I can say is THEY ARE NOW AS SOFT AS NICKI MINAJ'S BOOTY. Wednesday night is a series race at HOTSHOTS RC in Marietta GA so I'll see what happens.

To me, making the car wider by shimming the arm will add traction to that end. So even though the front is wider, you still have steering, but the car is a little more predictable. I ran that same shimming on asphalt most of last year, but I do want to play with making the car narrower for asphalt again

Mike, even though it might seem like it to you, let's not write incorrect statements. A wider car decreases lateral weight transfer, which takes away traction at whichever end you do this to. This is why cars are run wider on carpet, like you said, to make the car easier to drive.

There is no question, If I narrow my front end my car will get more steering, but it won't be as stable. The new chassis has more steering than the TC6 and this is probably why the front end is working well being wide.

Is it better to make the car wider from the wheel hex or from the bulkhead on carpet?

What you said is true if you are only changing the track width. Spacing out the arms also changes the roll center to make the car roll more (you are making the upper link longer spacing the arms out).
