Awesome!! I will have to buy a couple to replace the plastic ones. May get more aluminum parts for it too, if I can find them.

Aluminium is heavier than the plastic parts. I wouldn't recommend switching to aluminium everywhere for the sake of it.

I am looking to buy a reliable and cheap touring car to start on my club track.
I own an AE B5M and a Losi XXX SCT.

I was initially thinking of a Sakura XI Sport but not sure it will be enough reliable and I do not want to spend time replacing part. I know AE products are usually good.
XRay TC14 is out of budget.
TT-02 is less attractive than AE TC4.

How reliable is a TC4 Club Racer out of the box?
Is TC4 Club Racer closed to End Of Live ? Or will it continue to be produced?

What are the parts to change to make reliable? Front CVD ? What else?

Thanks.

I was thinking maybe only the CVDs and Differential Housings.

CVD's and diff housings are fine. No need to change. Some people complain about CVD's binding during hard cornering but I have not noticed that with mine.

You may want stronger CVDs and diff outdrives if you've got a powerful motor, but there's no need to change the diff housings (the gearbox itself).

A TC4 makes for a good VTA RC.

Just bought the RTR to run outside on low grip asphalt. What upgrades do I need for it and what oils should I use in the shocks ? Are the tyres any good ? We all use Rallyblocks as the grip is so low.
Thanks

You really don't need much in the way of upgrades for what you describe, the chassis is a solid piece that will get you running and respond predictably to tuning changes. If you feel like spending some money on the car the most useful 'upgrades' early on are tuning pieces like springs, swaybars, a faster servo, that sort of thing.

Shock oil in touring car is typically between 30 and 50 weight, with 35-40 being most common in that range. Losi or TLR shock oil is pretty good and as its silicone (all shock oil is these days) it wont degrade with time. I prefer it to Associated oil because its dyed and you can see what kind of oil you had in the shock before, in case I forgot. I forget things like that.

The kit tires are a long-wearing hard rubber and are perfectly good for running around in the street but will be much less grippy than the softer Rally Blocks.

Thanks DesertRat. I've been racing touring cars for about 10 years, but only raced Minis outside.
I'll be putting a faster servo in and a brushless 13.5t system. I'll use the kit electronics in one of my Minis.
