TC4 Carpet Setup (Med Traction)
Hey guys, Here is a very good starting setup for most carpet tracks. If anyone has any questions feel free to shoot away. I'll do my best to answer them.
TC4 FRONT Suspension
Shock Mounting-Hole 1 in on front tower
Ball Stud 0 washers w/ longest link
Caster 6 Deg. Block
.030 washer under standard ballstud
0 suspension shims under mounts NONE
Arm Spacing standard in front
Roll Bar .063
Droop-5
Camber-1 Deg
Toe-0
Shocks #3 70 Oil Purple Spring
Steering Rack Standard Setup
Front Diff Setting med/tight
REAR Suspension
Shock Mounting-All the way out on tower
Ball Stud 0 washers & long link
.030 washer under standard ballstud
0 suspension shims under mounts NONE (Car is built as low as can go)
Arm Spacing forward
Roll Bar -None
Droop-5
Camber-1.5 Deg
Toe-2 Degrees (used front mount to equal around 2 Deg.)
Shocks #3 50 Oil Purple Spring
Body-Protoform Alpha
Tires: JACO Double Pink/Orange Front & Double Pink in rear
Paragon Traction Compound
Battery Realtime 3300 MAH
Forward Batt position
Novak GTX
If you want the feel of additional steering or more rotation you can add pro squat to the rear of the car by adding the middle sized arm spacer to the rear block. That makes the car rotate well.

Cheers Eric,
I got my TC4 this afternoon so I'm going to start building tonight.
Do you know if this would work with either JACO Green's or 40 Shore Foams (not sure what the JACO Double Pinks etc.. are).
Thanks
Andy

Store i work at received 3 carbon kits yesterday, i weighed the parts for comparison you'll save just shy of 2 oz with the kit....

Andy, The JACO Double pinks are a 35 shore. The greens will work ok for the rear but you'll need a purple/orange type tire for the front.
Mabucci...No problem!
The carbon kit does indeed stiffen the car up quite a bit as well.

With the TC3, I found the carbon parts to be very durable. I think I only broke a couple arms, and never a shock tower in the 2 years I had the car.
It's not really the weight savings that is the main benefit of the carbon kit either, it is the rigidity.

2 oz is a lot of weight being these cars only normaly weigh about 50 so its 4% of the weight

I will take the 2 ounces... that is a lot of weight off of it. But the main reason i went with the carbon kit is to make the car more rigid. to try to get some of the "lazy" feeling out of the car. the only problem is I won't be able to test it out until next week

yeah rigidness helps esspecially in carpet it takes the wobble out
