Is too much info bad for us?????? What I mean by that is after having my packs for the entire carpet season and rematching them they have lost a little run time for the numbers on the label BUT I never have a problem with runtime and I have plenty of punch. HV or SMH are we trying to win races based on numbers before a car even hits the track? I run for Integy which everyone has bashed regarding their matching process but the cells that I have gotten from them have been killer. From nicads to nimh the packs have had plenty of runtime and voltage. That killer pack won't help if you have a bad set up. Just a few thoughts that are in my head!

I assumed that many top drivers from USA prefer using SMH, is that correct....??

What do you consider a worlds top driver??? I thought that Matt Francis, Brian Kinwald, Paul L. and a few others were top driver's. It's basically personal preference. Trinity does have both cells but all of the driver's use the SMH.

It is tough to buy batteries and most just want the best they can get for their hard earned money. At 75 plus a pack for a good matched pack you want it to last and be what it is advertised to be and nothing less. Now buying cells is harder and more expensive than ever and then they keep having new ones every few months. Batteries has always been a problem for the 17 years I have been racing.

I'm like everyone else and what the best I can get at a good price. I'm still running 2000's for the last 5 to 6 years and they do still run great and I guess I'm lucky because I can still keep up and win a fair share with my older stuff. I'm wanting to get a few new packs but I still don't know what to buy.

Is the Sanyo HV really better than the Panasonic SMH or the new Ultra cell. Ask 10 people and get 10 different answers. At least with 2000's Sanyos were the best. I'm scared to buy Panasonics since when I did have their 3000's in the bluw shrink they were terrible. Worst packs I have ever had. I have 1200SCRS that had more punch and the cells lasted great. So now I'm scared to buy Panasonic.

So what cell is better???? Anyone have a honest opinion!!!!!

the opinion of many top 'aussie' drivers is: smh - for mod, and hv for stock

im pretty sure the differences are subtle

Tosolini ran HV's at the Carpet nats. I was there and gave him his packs from SMC to run.

mandy, HV means... High voltage, and is the name Sanyo is currently using for their 3000's, so if you see HV or 3000HV thats what it means.
SMH... means Stock metal hydride, and is used by Panasonic, 3000SMH.
Now theres a UMH ultra metal hydride by panasonic as well, 3000UMH.
