This will create less room so you need a thinner spacer(the blue one)

Just install without any washers

Here's the question...I can get a 416x with Exotek chassis, gear diffs, ball diffs, and parts for about 250 less than the 417x. Is it worth the extra coin to get the 417x? It will only be run on asphalt.
If it were me I'd save the coin and buy the 416x. Then down the line if you decide you like Tamiyas buy a used 417x. Both cars will use the same arms, hubs, and other parts. Then you can have 2 TCs setup for 2 classes that share spares.

I know people with both and it's not like the 417 will make you any faster. Heck I see some 415s tearing it up still.

They're both (417 & 417X) 2.25mm
And both lower decks fit both cars; i.e. bulkhead holes are exctly the same.

In the right hands....................................Ha Ha Ha!

I have both 417X and the 417 and I like the original 417 with 13.5 and the 417X with 17.5.
To me it seems very similar but I need more steering with the 17.5 so I run the 417X and with the 13.5 I don't need hardly as much steering so I run the original 417. I hope this makes sense. To me the "X" has more steering!
So, on carpet it's very close to how both feel. This is dependent on set-up driving style etc, etc.
Just my 2$

+1

Regular 417 seems easier to drive on carpet.

Hi everyone

I'm looking for O-rings to rebuild my Tamiya shocks. I see the part # is 53574 but it includes the teflon parts which I don't need. ( At least i think I don't need them ... just want to chage the bottom o-ring as regular maintenance).

Does tamiya have a part number for O-rings alone ?

Does another brand sell orings that fit ? I mean REALLY fit, at least as good as the original O-ring, not something that binds or leaks...

Thanks guys !

thanks for the super-quick answer !

The 84195 are an absolute no-go, they are super tight on the rod, and the material is way too hard. But they are nice to have if you want to use them under a screw to mount, for instance, a top plate in a flexible way.

As for the others... could you comment on the respective merits of each item ? I see none of them are the transperent kind found in the box. Are the x rings good ?
