The preload collars don't need to be the same from side to side. Adjust them until the ride height is the same for both sides.

Pehaps there is a suspension arm the wrong way around?
This will set the shock more to the inside of the car and hence raise that side.
This if they both are mounted the same way.

Somebody can tell me if metallic central pulley from TRF417 can be installed in TRF416X? . I am having a lot of problems with rear belts and Gear diff ver 2 installed in my 416X.

Yes it fits but you need to use flanged bearings as the 416X bulkheads are further apart.

Can you tell me which kind of flanged bearings? Reference or size/type?

Thanks.

4x8mm flanged bearings. Flanges to the inside as the 416 series has wider bulkhead spacing.

Any brand will do quality versus price is your choice.

The 417 pulley is larger than the 416 pulley. Not sure if it's a direct drop in or if you have to use 417 belts or if it fits at all.

Rear belt same as 416X front belt is longer than the 416/416X.

Half correct

Thanks a lot, I have to try this. Two broken belts with Tamiya 417 ver 2 inside my 416X in two races...

And yes rear belts are the same for 416X and 417 (54207)

@Rosokam....Is the belt tension ok??
I run the TRF416X lipo also with the VII spec gear diff but havent stripped or broken a rear belt in a whole season.
The front belt should be a bit tighter then the rear so the car want's to pull a bit.
Check if the gear adaptor is right in the middle as if not the adaptor can damage the belt.
Same with the gear diff.

regards Roy

Maybe thatīs the reason. Rear belt was well tensioned but I didnīt check the front belt and rear was tighter than front.

Default I'm back!

Hey gang, I just spent the week in Thailand pitting next to the TRF team. I was having heaps of trouble getting my Kyosho to work in the high grip, so the night before qualifying I bought a 417X and built it for the next day

I got heaps of tips from those guys which I'll share when I have more time, and I have the setup they were using which i will post as well - nothing drastic really, just minor tweaks to the base setup.

Their cars were pretty standard too, just running the new double jointed front unis and metal spool outdrives

Nice... I just finished my 417x build and added those parts.

Pretty pumped to try it out.
