Titanium screws or alu screws, don't use much alu parts and perhaps you could use the plastic steering brifdge from a M05.
Use a low profil servo and small electro stuff.
Also use the lightweight carbon gear shafts for a M03/M04 and use alu turnbuckles

anybody try fitting the ABC AW11 body shell? would it fit? :)

Anyone find a body similar to the original mini or swift that will fit the M-06. I have a car coming and need a body but don't want the sedan look of the Audi TT pictured above or the S2000.

Any links to Anything that will fit or info on what Tamiya proposes to release for it....kind of odd the only version available now is the bodyless pro :(

I've seen some partial pics of the Ride WRX STI but can't find anywahere to get it in the states. I would love to find a AMC Gremlin :)

Ken, you wont find a Gremlin, you can put that idea out of your mind....

But for whatever it's worth, the measurement from the centre of the rear axle to the very back of the car is 65mm (just over 2 1/2"). That's how much rear overhang you need on a shell.

There aren't a lot of these chassis out there yet so you might just have to wait and see as people try them.

I've just finished building my M06 PRO and i must say the chassis looks great, it's very low and it's much better for setting up the chassis.
I only need to put some elektronics in& painting the alpine body and of we go for testing, i can heardly wait to test it :)
The chassis is a lot more complex to build then a M05 but it sure has some potential for great racing fun.

So you built the short wheel base version ?

I have indeed built the short wheelbase version.
I've ust add a low profile servo, now i only need to build the ESC in and then i can start with the body to paint :)

I must say the car is much heavier then a M05, but this was to expected with all the alu option parts installed.
Without the receiver,ESC and body it allready weights over 1200Gr (car was weighted with an SMC 5600 50C+ lipo battery)

Hopefully i can give it a try this wednesday, if the body get's finished in time :)

I must admit that I'm baffled by Tamiya's decision to again over-complicate such a simple and wonderful machine. I know they wanted to drop the COG, but did they have to be so silly about it? The M-03 and M-04 were fantastic, if flawed, but kept you on your toes.

Regardless, I've got an 06 on order.

Just drove my M06-M I luv it!!!!!! light years ahead of the M04!
May not be as fast as a M05,03 but with some tuning and work I belive it will.

Stick on the suspension bits from a TL-01 and you could fit an AMC Pacer shell!
