Had fun, setup somewhat working, but ugly. Springs are super hard, relying on tires and traction compound for tuning. Diff oil I think around 3 to 5K, light. Nice to have a battle with our fastest F1 car, gives me a baseline of how my tuning is going.

Still not happy nor confident it can win. So I am working on my M04

That’s impressive Joel!! Curious what gearing are you running in M06.

For a Tamiya TCS race we can only run kit gear with 20t, and Reedy fix timing 21.5. Our track has a very long straight.. I go on a coffee break while on the back straight lol.

Interestingly, I run Roche F1.. i love it.. it’s a fantastic chassis!

Hi Raman, just running the stock 20t pinion and stock tamiya internal gears, with shorty lipo. Motor is Tamiya 15T brushless with max timing. Nice to see a plastic mini beat a high end Roche

Hi Raman,
do you know, where your Timing is fixed with the Reedy? Would be interesting for me to know. We run nowadys 16T sensorless Carson Combo, but on the straights we are not faster than a good example of our old silvercan with built in fan "Carson Cup machine". Torque is of Course better with the Brushless Combo...

Good luck for you and the upcoming race!
Matthias

Cool training battle Joel,
interesting comparison! But you have to trust your M06 more!
But if you share your mods of your M04 here, this would really be interesting, too. I also still have my old M04 in the shelf, but always preferred the M06, because it suited better my driving style…
Br,
Matthias

Problem with M06 is while there is rear traction, corner speed is not flowing. But still trying to squeeze some speed out of it

Hopefully I can test my M04 and M06 this weekend to find out which is faster.

I just ordered motor this week.. should arrive this weekend. Not sure of what ° timing is fixed at.. would need to borrow a motor analyser for that.

Ah, o.k.,
no Need you buy an analyzer for me! But if there are some specs given like R.P.M., that would be fine. Just asking, because I want to estimate how much revelations such an actual 21,5t brings. Because Timing makes a huge difference in topspeed on these…

Then it’s no longer a 21.5 lol. More like a 13.5!

Since this season all the Carson 16t motors are checked at our Dutch tamiyacup and some clubraces. We use them in truck and mini. All are in the range 2450-2650 kV
We also use the Carson speed controler.
Topspeed in a mini with 20t pinion is about 40kmh.

Thank you Erik-Jan, it´s the same Combo as we use. Do you know, which tester is used for the brushless motors?
