What changes did you make?

Had a run of the car I built for my mate yesterday and it was a big improvement on his (admittedly terrible) TC5 but it felt a touch stiff

The car looks much better on track, I think Scott likes it better already saying it is faster than his TC5 after just one test day. He was keeping up with the fast guys yesterday with T3'11/T3/BD5W:nod:

So you were running all your cars then Ant.

I pretty much changed it to AE blue springs all around and suspension to increase front grip and decrease rear grip. It changes direction good and easily. I'll most likely be changing the setup while at Bendigo but I think I've got a good base setup.

I could be mine is ready for transportation for a 620km drive, I'll be taking photos over the weekend.

EDIT:
AE needs to make a blue version of this

I'll be using this on my TC6, it should fit in nicely. I just don't like using tape to hold my batteries in.

hey everyone just about finished my tc6 build. It only taking about 6 hours but had to take out thrust washers of my tc5r to complete the build as I had one of the kits that DIDNT have the thrust washers in it lol...

Note the diff complete does NOT fit in the tc6 just so you know.... As I went to put the spool out of the tc5r into it and its to wide.

I will post some pics tomorrow. Everything is very easy to put together even the eyelet cups on the tie rods were not hard at all.. Its a credit to AE for getting things all in good shape.

:D

there is diff in front?
how do this affect the drive compared with the solid axel?

tnx

walterhenderson 11-18-2010 03:04 PM

Diff in the rear, Slipper spool in the front.

jjfo80 11-18-2010 07:36 PM

The slipper spool you tighten up all the way and its like a solid axel anyways.... The only reason I was putting the solid axel in from the tc5r was I didnt get any thrust washers in my kit so I couldnt build either diff or spool.

Between slipper spool, solid axel, ball diff and one way is all down to driving style and what you want out of your car on different surfaces.
