That's craziness. I'll be reconsidering my order as my LHS does way more business with Horizon and get's parts twice a week from them and only makes GP orders at random.

Not a good move for AE

Building one of these for a mate, so far a few quality issues. Kit was missing all 4 thrust washers so couldn't build the diff or slipper spool, move onto the uni's and one of the couplings wasn't threaded and another needed to be reamed to get the pin through

*fingers crossed the uni's are the same as the TC5*

I guess the Aussie's are pretty being Guinea Pigs at the moment. I just hope with my kit the problem parts are the parts same as TC5, I've got enough TC5 spares to build up another TC5.

This does not sound promising...

Somebody can give me the code of that missing diff parts?
Thanks in advance.

Just an FYI GP will now also have access/carry ALL AE part numbers as well as all Thunder Tiger products, according to my sales rep, much like HRP is with HPI

The unis weren't a huge problem, I just left the set screws out of the fronts and put some heat shrink around the retainer. I'm sure the local distributor will have the thrust washers to us before the planned debut this weekend.

So they're put the date back 2 months and still getting stuff wrong..

Good job I bought an Xray instead :P

Looking at the pics looks like I've already got the suitable parts, I'll certainly find out today. I will be posting pics throughout the build.

So from the Build that I undertook and what others are experiencing the QA seems to be a bit down. Looks like the only minor packing flaw for the first batch are the thrust washers, instead it seems the wrong washer was picked in the process.

The Aus distributor is fantastic and sorted this out for me within 24hrs of being notified even sent it to my house.

For those who do experience issues I suggest that you contact your hobby shop and they will contact the distributor and it will be sorted out for you asap.

We already indicated this issue with AE and I expect it will be sorted asap.

Of course the first batch of mass produced kits can be a little frustrating with some parts miss picked and also a few minor machining flaws. However this Is what happens.

Even the mighty Xray team had issues with the front suspension mounts on the t3 and i do recall there being issues with miss moulding of rear hubs early in the 07 days?

In terms of the drive shafts, I agree with Craig its no biggie i don't actually even run the grub screws as the retainers. Equally nor did i in the xray, though i used the TOP racing retainers, $10 can save a lot of heart ache.
Oh and the TOP racing ones really dont work with the TC6.

YES they are, you will not have an issue.

+1

Our indoor season has started and I didn't have a car, this was my first choice. I wouldn't mind waiting until the November 24th date, but with one more push back its December before I get a car. Maybe next season.

is this made in Japan?
