Looks like A-Main has the TC6.1 on Pre-order for 399.99 Thats about $50 more than the TC6.

Guess that the price will drop once the original TC6 kits are out of stock.

According to the parts list, the chassis has not been changed. It should be the same as the TC6 chassis.

The chassis is the same...

This is the actual parts list needed to convert your TC6 to the 6.1. Of course this is MSRP:

31356 TC6.1 FRONT ARMS $7.99
31357 TC6.1 REAR ARMS $7.99
31358 TC6.1 CASTER BLOCKS $7.99
31359 TC6.1 REAR HUB CARRIER $6.99
31360 TC6.1 STEERING BLOCKS $5.99
31361 TC6.1 OFFSET ARM MOUNTS $8.99
31362 TC6.1 ANTI ROLL BARS $27.99
31363 TC6.1 ANTI ROLL BAR TUBE $8.99 x2 (possibly)
31364 TC6.1 ANTI ROLL BAR WIRE $9.99
31365 TC6.1 ANTI ROLL BAR MOUNTS $3.99
31366 TC6.1 CVA KIT $29.99 x4
31370 TC6.1 AXLE CRUSH TUBES $3.99 x2
25237 Bearing 5x10x4 $4.99 x2
1402 1.375" Turnbuckle $7.99 x2
31550 M3 Locknuts $7.99 x2
31399 TC6 Spool $34.99
31344 TC6 Gear Diff $44.99

The grand total again MSRP is looking like $356.75. Would like to see what the street prices will look like to see if it worth converting..... Keep in mind MSRP on the TC6 was $649.99 and so will this one I assume...

Anyone noticed in the pics that despite the narrow chassis design, they're still able to fit a full sized servo on the chassis.

Look at the posts, it has spacers to get the servo inside.

Jesus... Again, you guys are blowing this out of proportion.

The only thing that the TC6 owners really need to upgrade to the TC6.1, are the plastic suspension pieces and the rear gear diff(provided they don't have one already).

There is no real reason to spend $150 on the new CVAs and new bearings. The new units allow for the use of a slightly larger bearing, so odds are the bearings are more durable. It also allows for drop-in use of more of the DCJs on the market... But as it sits, there appears to be no functional difference between the CVs in the TC6 and TC6.1 kits.

I would put money on the "31362 TC6.1 ANTI ROLL BARS $27.99 " kit coming with the little parts listed below it, just like the current "Anti roll bar kit" comes with all the mounting blocks and turnbuckle pieces needed.

You have a TC6 and you want to have a 99.99% functionally identical car to the TC6.1??? This is what you need:

31356 TC6.1 FRONT ARMS $7.99
31357 TC6.1 REAR ARMS $7.99
31358 TC6.1 CASTER BLOCKS $7.99
31359 TC6.1 REAR HUB CARRIER $6.99
31360 TC6.1 STEERING BLOCKS $5.99
31361 TC6.1 OFFSET ARM MOUNTS $8.99
31362 TC6.1 ANTI ROLL BARS $27.99 ( x2, maybe?)
31344 TC6 Gear Diff $44.99

= $120-150... including the price of the gear diff, which 80%+ of the TC6 racers already seem to have.

And that is MSRP...

If you already own a gear diff, you are probably going to end up paying ~$80 to convert your car over with all the suspension pieces.

The items above in RED are most likely by the pair or a complete set rather than per part. The spool is really unnecessary since the slipper is already good enough.
And YES the sway bar setup is a knock off of the TM E4 RS and FS which were not bearing raced.

I hope Santa brings me a new TC 6.1 ;-)

jorgesimes 11-22-2011 03:23 PM

Santa will have to open an account at Team AE, if he doesn't has one already.

sosidge 11-22-2011 04:11 PM

This HDRC system is an interesting (if over-named) approach to the anti-roll bar. Will be interesting to see how people get along with it.

Personally speaking, if I was to go down that hybrid-bar route, I would have made the levers solid and had a replaceable torsion section.

Am I the only one that thinks this car has enough changes to justify it's own thread?

well it seems that way , lol .. but have you guys notice the only parts that were used at the ATS were the gear diff/Spool and the new suspension arms upgrade, looking at the pictures of Levanen, the new sway bar was not use,
and it seems like Hot bodies spur gears,

Yeah probably.

rangerjkb 11-22-2011 07:03 PM

it is a .1 version of the TC6. I imagine alot of current TC6 owners will be interested to see the changover effects as parts become available.

Yeah, it looked like Levanen was only using the plastic suspension pieces. Was still using the old arm mounts and swaybar setup.

Even more interesting, is it appears he was using the SpecR gear diff in front while using the AE gear diff in back.....
