Guess I'm running my front belt too loose. I noticed I've worn off the left side of the teeth edge the motor shaft. Is there a standard way to figure out loose enough but not too loose?

wtcc 06-30-2011 02:26 PM

If you lift the belt in the middle between the pulleys it should move around 5mm up.

Probably hitting the pinion or pinion set screw...check to make sure it is all the way in towards the motor

Does anyone have a picture of the Associated TC6 Ballast Weight (Part 31296)? I see it is available but none of the online retailers have a picture or description of it. Thanks.

35$ for some ballast weights?

I'll stick to automotive tire balancing lead weights :D

I was looking forward to balancing my TC6 with some cool new design weights...got all done and it was spot on with NOTHING! I was pretty shocked, and if someone needs all that weight I'd say you really just need a heavier battery that will give more punch at the end of the race (or move the battery as that makes a big difference!).

I think even xray is cheaper than that, and corally...... tape weight it is.

$27.95 and xray weight in def not cheaper. The associated stuff adds up to 60grams

20 grams from xray is $21 dollars at amain. For 60 grams that would be $63 Associated stuff sounds like a bargain

...and NONE of it is any more effective than a $5 strip of stick on wheel weights.

gear mesh

cant set motor properly is little bit not straight... can fill it on gear mesh... that is normal? or motor mount is not in line...? or problem is in spur...?

Your car looks alot more professional and clean with the Associated weights, not a tire on a car in the parking lot:tire:

My car balances perfect with the Associated weights

I prefer tire balancing weights, too. Got them for free and because of their size 5 or 10 gr. you can place them everywhere in the car. Would prefer running without them but rules say 1400gr. and the allowed electronics are that light, that my 5400 50C battery has to much weight on its side. So I carry always around 100gr. extra weight in my car...

By the way only HB bodies are allowed. Mazda works fine, but looks boring. Today I tried to convert it into a BMW 320 TC in the WTCC Tom Coronel style:

This is the real one:
