The McLaren and Pagani are production touring cars available for sale.
In my opinion, the Mazda should not be legal.
Violates the "spirit" of the rules.

...and is better suited to Ben Afleck as Batman than it does on the track. You might as well include Charlie Sheen's Dodge M4S Turbo Interceptor from the movie "The Wraith."

You mean that huge front air dam doesn't provide tons of downforce?

At risk of getting off on a tangent, I have one of these bodies as well. I won't run it in USGT because I also feel that it isn't in line with the spirit of the USGT rules (which I have a great deal of respect for). What irks me is that I can't run it in WGT. In fact, it's my understanding that the quintessential GT car, the many iterations of the 911, arent' legal is WGT because they aren't F/R in engine/drive configuration.
Will be running my C5 Corvette in USGT for now, and will soon be running my 1998 Panoz Esperante GT1. :-)

I had 1 of these for a short time. It really does not fit anything properly except for IFS type suspensions and really low shock towers.
I put it on a TC6 after it being to high for a T3, and meticulously tired to get it to fit as best as it could. Slotting out for the shock towers on both ends to get it as close as possible to the proper height. Best I could get was about 6-7mm were it should have been.
On chassis with lowered shock towers it might fit better. The initial turn in was pretty aggressive as well. It looked cool going around the track for club races.

However, as exotic street cars get more and more radical, the line between legal/illegal is going to get blurred. I hope the powers that be will keep an eye on this trend and tweak the rules accordingly so we don't all end up running low slung hyper car bodies just to remain competitive.

I have to agree with the guys that say that the Mazda body violates the "spirit" of the body rules. A good way to start killing the class is to start allowing "one off" bodies like this to be legal. Now, if there were enough bodies and interest (racers) in doing a 'prototype' division within USGT, then great but if not, participants should stick with the bodies that are replicas of the cars that are actually being run in the 1:1 GT/Touring Car series.
