USGT,
GT style bodies ONLY, No LMR or any similar types( no big 12th scale bodies ), NO SLICKS. IFMAR starts for qual, and 8 min A-main
So the #17547 MCLAREN F1 LM BODY (200mm) would not be legal under these rules?

I think a better way to guage the rule would be that if it looks like a big 1/12th shell then its out.

How about just following the rules as they are written...

Any 190mm or 200mm body. Body can be any body that is NOT on the ROAR T2 body list. FWD encouraged to use FWD bodies However, Can AM or IMSA style bodies, similar to 1/12 or 1/8 bodies are also discouraged NO Trucks
Any "SCALE" molded wings can be used. Lexan wings 10mm maximum height / side dam height
Scale type race liveries encouraged

I see your point, but its more of what Snoop is saying...the 12th scale type bodies is what I think we should avoid...imo...

Maybe we could tweak the rules to say "Body must be a scale model of an actual, street-legal production car, or its racing version."

Body rules have been a real sticking point for me. I love the fact that it's supposed to be GT class cars and that's what I run. There are some questional bodies, Zonda being one of them, but I am cool with that body. What I have a problem with is that the Mcallister Daytona PROTOTYPE is allowed.

That is already spelled out in the rules.

This could lead to more issues maybe removing the discouraged line from the rules would make them clearer?

So far I've only been using sports car shells. RX-7 and Mustang GT, but I don't have a problem with the Zonda or Mclaren. Some of the others are pushing the spirit of the rule a bit.

What frosts me about body rules is NOT the USGT rules, but ROAR's WGT rules. The ultimate GT car, the many iterations of the Porsche 911, is NOT legal in WGT because the car that the body is based on is not of a F/R configuration (??!!).
Thanks for the clarification, RobK. I may be slow with the Panoz, but I'll look good (or ugly) doing it!

Maybe a new rule should be only tamiya bodies allowed, jtcc, btcc, dtm, fia gt and you are set no more body issues

Way too restrictive. I like Tamiya and all but I am not willing to give up on all the other shells out there. Especially my HPI R35 GT-R.

I just painted this body up for a fellow racer. He would like to run this in USGT.
We're not 100% sure its legal?

Could you guys help us out. Is this bad boy legal for usgt racing?

That looks like the 1/12 scale stuff that is discouraged. It may fly at our track though. The race officials will need to decide. What is it anyway? Looks like a Camaro freak show...

IMO, no way that should be legal for USGT.
