What do you think: What motor would it take for FWD cars to beat the best 21.5 4WD USGT cars? 17.5? 13.5? 10.5? Boost!?!

Both XRAY and awesomatix both built FWD cars this year... so that’s might be why there is a renewed interest. And the Awesomatix car does have a low enough profile to fit what ever body you want. It’s just funny how the rule was “should” for a decade and now that the cars are coming out it changed.

NOBODY

The weight break and stuff like that was done in hopes someone would try it. No one really did, so I more or less stopped worrying about it a few years ago.

I did. I built up my FF03 just to try to abuse that rule you have there. I started that project two, maybe three years ago. So... someone cared :-) And I totally understand the weight break and it's intent.

Also, what about "FWD to use FWD bodies" is ambiguous? Sorry I didn't adhere to the Manual of Rules Writing English, but how about just using a FWD body, since it says use a FWD body??
I thought I went over that in a previous post. The rules for USGT (and VTA) are... somewhat messy. A stack of differing typographic styles, and lacking a certain organization. In this case, the "fwd body on fwd car" rule, is in with the "here's how you decide if a body NOT ON THE LIST should be legal." section. If you want to emphasize that FWD bodies should be on fwd chassis, that rule should be moved up into the description of the class.

.......... I'm willing to put in an evening and clean up the rules, if you're open to the help. (There's evidence that you are, with the wing rules and such) I'd happily straighten out the typography and make the rules not look like they're one of my car bodies. (That is, taken out back, and beaten mercilessly)

Edit: I should also say, the VTA and USGT rule sets are some of my favorites. They emphasize fun, and reasonable requirements over exacting standards. "We are here to play with toy cars" versus "I need the FIA inspecting my toy car every week." :-)

Donny's car was DIALED! And, with no weight limit (at least at our club, not sure if that's nationwide), the FWD's are A LOT closer than people think. The hatch bodies look badass too.

we have similar experience at our local club track on black carpet. not so far off at all. :sneaky::)

Honestly, I really like it! I dig the variety in chassis and bodies now. I came in second overall against Donny, who finished third, but he was no easy task. Both of our cars were on our debut races, but we had a terrific scrap in our first main. So much fun mixing it up with something different!!
