Remember when we ran bodies because they looked cool.

I disagree. I think it's more the, is able to extract the most power/torque from what he has vs the doesn't know how to extract the power/torque from what he has difference.
I have a fancy TSR 25.5 The1 motor set to its stock timing. My car is the fastest car down the straight at my club. However, my lap times are much slower than everyone's. I always chalked it up to bad driving. I recently came across a procedure that details how to best extract the power/torque from your motor. I've never messed with timing or even knew about using the timing for anything other than more top end. As I was reading it I realized that this is most likely the biggest difference between my fellow racers and me, aside from driving skill. They already knew how to tune their motors for max power /torque and I didn't. I confirmed this about a week later when I overheard one of the clubs fastest racers mention this very same motor tuning procedure. It's not always money but it is almost always experience and talent. |
is that procedure you speak of online anywhere? |

I'm surprised that nobody is concerned about how, during the painting process, the paint is distributed. Too much front/rear or high/low could upset the chassis and also handling! Motor wars? How about the body war!

I’d guess that only the top .001 percent this would effect. Fast guys could use shoeboxes for body and still put us average guys laps down. I totally agree with your shoe box comment. I asked my clubs fastest guy to help me get past something that's been holding me back at the track. I asked him to just talk me through a lap. We started and he's going, "Okay, full throttle, let off, full throttle here, let off, full throttle, tap the breaks, full throttle..." I just stopped, looked at him, and started laughing. I said, "So, you're just basically full throttle most of the time?" He said, "Yeah, pretty much." It was at that point that I had to look deep inside and consider that I may just never be a top three driver. |
I always thought that the p-zero body was heavy being made of a thicker material than other bodies. The reason I like it best is that it is durable. I still have my first p-zero body that I used with another chassis hanging on my wall. |

Thats right, Zonda. I had one in a 1/32 slot car. I was looking at them (new to on road RC) yesterday and thought it looked familiar. That’s what happens when your 55, memory, lack of 🤔 I wanted to run a c7, but if you want to be competitive...

Haha, great point! And I want to run usgt for the realistic look. We have a long straight into a sweeping rt hander.
