I think as long as you can point to a real car and it resembles that car by 98%, then it doesn't really hurt the spirit of the class. The only reason that has to be done is for licensing purposes.

Raman,
I have an Audi 190 body painted like Hans Stuck's car from about 30 years ago. What is a more quitessential AWD touring car than that. I am sure that it will have similar handling characteristics as an ice cream truck, but I'm going to run it anyhow.

Where did you get that body... I like my GT-R, but an audi would be more proper with a FWD chassis.

I love that body, can't imagine you can find they any longer.

It was actually an Audi 90 from TransAm series in 1989 where it obliterated the V8 powered American cars using a alloy block AAN motor that was a straight 5 putting out over 700BHP. The car was actualy AWD and not FWD, after Audi proved to be VERY competitive AWD was outlawed for 1990. The car was driven by a total rock star line up including Hurley Haywood, Walter Rohrl, Hans Stuck.

Cheers,
Jim

I have never tried it at the track.. might have to give it a shot and see if I can make it work. :D

the McAllister DTM body could possibly pass as an audi with that Paint Scheme. I've always wanted to try the McAllister DTM body... perhaps it is time. My biggest worry is that ppl would think i was running a TC body.

Hi, anyone here had or is running a hobbywing v10 g2 motor? I know it's not the best choice for usgt and tcs's gt2 but I still want to make it work. Is there anything I should notice when comes to gearing? Most of my time will be spent on cal raceway, tamiya track and tqrc. Thanks

I'm very aware of the AUDI racing history. :-) Those cars were magic. Even when they started piling on weight they still kept up. I'm sad TransAM isn't as big of a thing as it was in the 90's. I remember seeing it on network TV.

While I ~really do like~ my GT-R body. And the selection of "what really might be FWD" bodies is really slim. Especially if I want something that's not a VW.

Amusingly, there is the whole Mazda 6 thing, but that's a touring car body.

The motor was particularity magic....maybe the best sound in all of the automotive kingdom.

Funny, as I was rummaging through my stash I found an Audi body from Protoform....

I’ve tried the DTM body only once. Still in pristine condition hanging on my wall. However the inner fender wells seem to be an issue with tire rubbing. Even when making track width narrow as possible. Then it looks funny with tires tucked in too far. This is just my opinion. Try if you wish.

Can’t wait for this to become the go to body for FWD! So sexy...

KYOSHO PRIUS FTW

OSherman 03-21-2018 11:47 AM

Spice (I believe) makes a nice Prius as well.. very hard to find, unfortunately.

don't see it fitting on a FWD TC

Rob... I know it’s a long shot, but can you make a 4door exception for FWD!

OSherman 03-21-2018 01:14 PM

on second thought.. This shown above isn't the SPICE version, which actually DOES fit FWD chassis.. I will try and find a pic of the SPICE Prius
