One of the stated goals originally for this class was to get away from the monotony of everyone running the same boring body and instead have people using a variety of cool scale looking bodies.

An easy way to get rid of the monotony of a one body series would be to ban the body that everyone has gravitated towards. I am sure this would be unpopular with many but if it is a serious enough issue it would get the job done.

Cheers,
Jim

Then you would never see a new USGT body again.

I am sure if the people that are not happy with the P Zero but by chance might have won the race I am sure this thread would be going in another direction.

I'm not sure how to remedy this. As they say, "you pay your money and take your choice".

Im okay with the body, as I support the USVTA and its classes. I didnt agree with it being legal at 1st, but I understood.

My concern is the lack of different bodies on the track. Yes being sponsored by PF limits me to about 4 bodies. And I try to run them all at different times. But not seeing the looks or paint ups like real cars just drives me nuts. When you are at an event and NOBODY in the A-main is running anything different and none of them look like race cars at all. Thats a bummer for me and others. I have seen guys walk away from the class just for this reason. And I think its getting worst. And the ROAR Nats was a good race and event for USGT, but it did nothing for the class character, when you look at the field of cars.

I just would like to see the USGT class keep some of its looks, its already super fast....lets at least look like RACE CARS...put some racing strios on it, add some numbers, turn on the lights....make noises as you race around the track...just something is all Im saying

I’m with you on this one...bigtime! TC style paint jobs on GT cars looks goofy, never liked the TC style paint jobs....they are artistic and take a lot of skill to do but it’s not something I will ever do.

These are what I will be running for the near future:

Replica of a BMW Art Car done by a local painter.

One of my usual basic paint schemes.....decals by Cseils.

WOW, Love all the whining in this thread, if you don't like the body don't run it. Why don't we ban Awesomatix and Monster motors why were at it? The funny thing is if PF had actually followed through we'd see a sea of Ford GT's like wgtr experienced and if Billy had run usgt at Roar the winner would have been an MX Stang.

This whole body thing is enough to make this newb want to give up plans to run the newly purchased 7.1 in USGT. It's absurdly confusing. Even the body manufacturers make it confusing. Yes, I've seen the ROAR list, but still, it's overwhelming.

Don't let it get to you. Just pick a body off the usgt approved list and run it.

Have fun racing!

Don’t overthink it too much. A good group shouldn’t make a big deal out of body choice for a “rookie”. Group I ran with let 2 of us run non legal bodies for half the races.

Yeah, my group is totally cool about it. I just like to be legit, I don't mind following the rules if everybody else is. Hell, I even run the spec zero timing Hobbywing ESC! Jut trying to be a good newb.

FWIW, I like the McAllister MX-Stang. As a newb who just bashed the living crap out of a Mustang body that took me hours to paint and detail, I'm appreciating the cost and simplicity of it. Plus, I love that hunkered down look.

Sorry to be this way, but why in the world is it overwhelming? Look at the list, pick a body and then run it.

By the way, outstanding choice! Great body. Looks cool, will take a licking, and handles great. Good luck.
