People race to win. Have fun and win. I cannot speak for anyone but myself, I race USGT and have tried every body out there and the P Zero is by far the fastest body for me and by judging by the body count must be the same for most. I just can't help but wonder if the content of some racers signature stops them from running a P Zero.

I didn't run it but didn't want to I was really out in left field most of the race. The traction there was hard to get my head around for the most part, that body may have worked for me. For me the spirit of these classes is to have people competing. If I run USGT I'll run what works best for me if it is a Pzero I'm good with that. I honestly don't care what others run as long as I can if I want. We don't have static models, we have race cars and at a national race, the point is to go as fast as possible. That's what people are going to do.

"I just can't help but wonder if the content of some racers signature stops them from running a P Zero." To what are you referring? NOTHING stops me from running whatever body I want (except of course a McAllister DP body because those are illegal even though the P zero looks like a prototype). I would rather throw something different in the mix. If you want to race as fast as possible, race 17.5 or mod.

For me VTA is my real chance for no blob bodies, that class will probably never suffer from the "hot" body issue. Don't get me wrong I and the other guys talked about the body and I said I probably would never get the PZero, but only because I don't like it and I do like the Mustang and Corvette, as I have seen them raced in full size. I really wanted to run VTA at the Nats but it wasn't a class. So anyway for me and apparently you as well I'll run the bodies I like and try to make it as fast as I can, the spirit of any class is the racers that have a passion for it.

Personally I think the only way to minimise trophy hunters in the "fun" classes is to just abolish trophies.

If everyone is running the same body, then no one has an advantage. Seems like the 'real racers' would be looking for an advantage and trying something different.
I think this is more a case of 'monkey see monkey do' mentality among RC racers. I started in RC racing in 2014 and have seen the 'hot USGT' body go from PFM10 to the Cadillac to the Corvette and now the Exotek. The next "hot" body is just around the corner and the Exotek will be relegated to the closeout bin.

Not disagreeing with anything you said, and this is absolutely not a shot at you, but the exact same thing happens in TCS racing too. NSX, BRZ, etc.
The thing here is that since there is a limited number of bodies by companies like Protoform, Exotek, etc. which you can get anywhere, you see less variety. I have pointed out many times, there are lots of bodies that are good, but sometimes they are scarce (any HPI lately), or hard to find, or at least not super easy to acquire (bluegroove, buildrc, deltaplastik usa). That's not to say 10 minutes on google will not get what you want, but it takes actual effort. Much easier to buy the new hotness everyone else uses (350Z, Caddy, etc.etc.)
