No One can keep up with the changes in real life "GT "racing.

If you watch A 12 or 24 hour race its The Prototypes, Vantages, Porsche, Corvettes and Ferraris.
Some of the other Races its Camaros, Porsche,Mustangs, Corvettes , Miatas and the Minis, Throw in some Vipers and Cadillacs .
I never get to see The German DTM , BritishTouring cars , Austrlian Super Cars so i dont know those cars are also in " GT "racing.

My point is if The PFM (not a real car) is there. The Daytona Corvette should be available.

At one of the tracks I race at Timewarp LITH. they allow the Banned cars . Nobody there Cares. They just want to Race and have fun for the Day.

RAL;
Thanks fot the kind words. Ya...must confess I really dug that racecar and knocked myself out to replicate it as best i could. I did that mold back in the "days of innocence" when we (as body manufacturers) didn't really think we were doing anything wrong by using names and likenesses of real cars. I actually thought that if we did a "good" representation of the real car, that we were doing them a favour. How totally naive I was back then - DOH!!

Were were forced to stop selling that body - but it wasn't Opel (GM of Europe) that came after us, it was the factory works race team. Ouch!

The double standard seems to still exist out there when it comes to licensing. It's a bummer. Do you really think we "like" to call bodies names like PFM10?

Na, were certainly don't, but we also don't want to increase the retail price by 30% just to be able to put a real name on it.

Dale,

Out of curiosity, how would you feel if Team bluegrove back poured your TC bodies, changed the name slightly and sold them for even less?

Would you take legal action and send them a cease and desist?

I still have an unpainted Opel Calibra that I bought 20 years ago. Its been in a box, moved from place to place for that long. I may never actually run it but I may paint it just to say I did.

It means "grand touring", as in traveling on roads, as in cars that were originally designed to travel on the paved roads of the world.

IMSA and organizations like that decided to make a class for these type of cars to race against one another. Hence....the GT class came into being a very long time ago. These GT racecars are based on something that was originally designed to be licensed and driven on the road and equipped with all the creature comforts like A/C and stereos. Yes, they are modified severly to make them competitive as "race cars" however there's no denying the fact that the original DNA spells: Street Car

I've never seen a Daytona Prototype Riley or Corvette or Cadillac DPi that was built for street usage. Have you? Yes, there is the odd excentric billionaire out there that has made a Porsche 962 street legal with turn signals etc. But that's not the norm. It's just the odd guy who has too much money and also lives in a castle somehwere in the Alps.

Yes, the Pagani has similarities to the purpose built prototype cars, but its a vastly different creation.

This is not that hard. It's debated way too much in my opinion. Get over it. LeMans Prototypes, Daytona Prototypes as well as the new for 2017 DPi cars are million dollar pure bred race cars, and that's not what the USGT class is all about.

The Mazda Furai still doesn't fit that description.

The Furai was a one off concept car that was destroyed by fire. No production run was ever made. End of story. It never would have qualified to compete in GT, I repeat, GT competition.

Has anyone looked at the body list...its not on the list. Being the person that wrote the list I do not recall it ever being on the list of approved bodies. I could be wrong but looking at all the past revisions to the list I did not see where the Furai was ever on the actual list.

Raman;
I don't really want to get into hypotheticals in a public forum like this. It wouldn't be appropriate on my part to discuss the ethics and practices of someone who is doing the type of things that Jon @ Team Bluegroove continues to do.

If I were to serve him legal papers, I could drop them off personally, because he lives only 15 minutes from my home.

His day of reckoning will eventually come. That's a sure thing.

I'm just happy Protoform was finally able to release the C7R, and just in time too since the IMSA races at Road America are only 2 weeks away and I need to get these bodies painted up for some factory team drivers autographs!

Nice body, but it can't be USGT legal. It's not a real car.
If this is legal, then the McAllister "Hot Rod" should be legal.

I'd saved myself a bunch of money had I known rc racing is actually just arguing on a forum...
I have been surprised by the inane bickering about how "unfair" everything in competitive rc racing is, "it's not fair the more expensive motor is faster", "instead of tires why can't I just use ziploc bags full of tire sauce!?", company ABC announced their new 'whatsit' yesterday why isn't mine here from China YET?! Well, I guess that's my race practice for the evening

RoosterReagan gets it.
Had to like his post, then unlike it, just so I could like it again.

Rob and Kevin,
Keep doing what your doing. There are those out here who appreciate it.

Hey Exotek Mike yeah was wondering if the zero body will be legal as well? I use your tc body because it handles and has held up well for over a year now. I'm figuring the zero body will do great also. I ran against you in the big Fresno race last year in usgt.
