Try some other bodies. The HPI S2000, Celica, the Porsche 911, both models of the Lotus Elise , and the C5 Corvette have all worked for me with no issues.

If you are running 0 degrees of rear toe it will hold the wheels a little farther back than if you run 2.5 or 3 degrees of rear toe. That could be the 2-3mm of wheelbase that you are looking at.

Associated must use a longer wheel base than HPI because I've always found my TC3s to be longer than the HPI cut outs, especially when running less rear toe in and even after spacing the rear hub carriers all the way forward. I usually align the front wheels properly to the wheel wells and then make a custom cut out for the back. The original cut out line shows a little but not very noticeable once its painted.

The USVTA Nats was a great event. USGT had 30 entries I believe and some close racing. The A Main was 15 minutes long and Josh Hohnstein running a Hotbodies Cyclone put the smackdown on everyone in attendance.
There were a number of people who follow this thread in attendance. Good times. Hopefully someone took some pic or vids of the racing. |
For those wondering.........here are the results.

For the price and performance those Thunder Power tires rocked. I don't think there was any drop off over the course of the day. I think Jimmy and Josh both ran their fastest laps during the 15 minute main. I want to try them outside.

I ran a lot of practice on Friday and all day Sat and like others have mentioned noticed very little wear. The best thing is they didn't seem to pick up as much "stuff" from the track compared to the vintage tires. Cleaning them up from the previous race was a breeze! Only thing kinda weird was a very small ring of glaze (buildup) on the inside of each of the tires. I think everyone pitting around me had the same thing happen. Other than that they were great.... and that is very minor. Hope they work on the home track as well!!

This is my sons new usgt body. This is his fourth body that he has painted and only the second one he did 100% by himself. Everything was done with tamiya rattle cans and masking tape. No airbrushing. Please comment.
