after almost 10 years, I was back racing a 1/10 onroad at my local track.
my first class was sedan 17.5 which I used my old losi jrx type r. it still need some love. the other popular class was usgt/sportman (21.5). I was able to get the loaner car from the track. It was a TC3 that was in good shape with an excellent setup. It was handeling better then my losi. I was able to qualify 4 or 6 sec behind TQ which is very good. so now I'm in love with this class that I was able to show that even with a 15 years old TC3 car, everybody could be competitive and have fun. I'm now looking for a TC4 since more part are available. |
]https://youtu.be/mPnawSlAtzE[ video of last month's club race. I hope Jason will post some videos of this weekends race.
I just finished 3 days of racing at the Cen Cal Challenge we had the biggest USGT field 39 drivers signed up 38 participated. Hobbytown raceway ]s the best 10th scale track in this country IMHO the mains A main was a war with the top 6 cars nose to tail for most of the race. The leader for most of the race was Nick George then he made a small mistake with a minute to go. The 5th place car of Mike from Exotek to lead dragging the 6th place car to second on the second to last lap Josh Bister made his move to win the Cen Cal Challenge. This race had Hobbytown 150 entries in 6 classes of those classes USGT had the biggest field as I said this was the biggest USGT race this year. Hobbytown did a great job with tech inspection announcing and organizing this race. Next year if you race USGT it is the race to attend on the west coast since Fresno is in the middle of California it had the best USGT drivers in California. |

It was a fabulous weekend of racing! The USGT class was the most intense and exciting of the day! I lost track of how many lead changes in those 5 minutes as the crowds were whoopin and hollering for most of the race :D

It is a Speed Passion Mazda Furai it is not legal as of 8/1/2016 at the race director discretion.

This is a super fun class! Roar did update the rules though. Now you are locked to one specific wheel and tire. I miss the old days of being able to customize your car and being able to try new things....

Mike, what body is that on the USGT?
Rob of USGT has already given it the green light for the approval list. https://www.netcarshow.com/Mazda-Fur...08-1280-01.jpg |
Aww yeah. I run the discontinued speed passion Mazda body and it's awesome. Light weight, durable, and cool as hell. Glad to see someone is bringing it back

Rob of USGT has already given it the green light for the approval list. I have also received the okay from Rob King that this body is legal for USGT now and moving forward. So no worries on it not being allowed in any USGT event. It's an awesome body and responds really well to track conditions through a simple change of the rear wing for more or less down force and corner rotation. CAUTION! This body requires a chassis with very short or modified shock towers to get the proper clearance and body ride height. Mike, glad to hear that you may be able to breathe life into what is arguably the most beautiful, true to scale reproductions of an rc body ever produced IMHO.:D |
