Not to beat a dead horse, but I have a TB04 Pro II that's been converted to an EXO6. It's now really only a set of DCJ away from the EVO6 converted cars for a bit less money.

Thanks for the replies about the xv-01. Even classes like VTA, designed for entry level racing, end up with TRF and Xray level cars. It must be due to the competitive nature of racing. Every advantage helps I guess.

In an ideal world, anyone could show up with an older TA, TB, FF, XV, tc3-4 chassis, set it up, and go!

I think I'll still hit up a track one day (they are all over 1hour away) and see what the locals run.

I have dreams about showing up at the track with my xv-01, 10mm ride height, front mount motor, plastic tub chassis and blowing away the racers with TRF cars :)

4roller - In the XV01 thread, I wrote about running my XV01 Pro in USGT (RCGT back then). its actually very capable and easy to drive. I was faster with my XV01 than my TB04 Pro.

Tire question:

I going to be attending a big race in a little over a month and running in the USGT class.

Are the ride tires you have to use better when they are new, or after they quite worn?

Well, I could be wrong(only have experience from my local track point of view), but it does seem that after a brief break-in, they're best when new, & then after a few race days, they start to drop off a bit(though I don't think it's a huge drop off, maybe .1-.2 sec. at the very most I believe).

Though I'd bet you were not running it at 10mm ride height....

Okay, 10mm was a stretch. I just set up my car for urban rally. I ride more like 4-7mm when I set it up for real road use.

10mm would be great for rolling over the chicanes though 😂

I agree. However I think new tires are always better on the new CRC black rug vs tires with more than a race day on them.

Yeah, I have to admit I haven't had a chance yet to run on the new black CRC carpet, only the older stuff. And I probably won't get a chance until I can get a new job & some paychecks in the bank.....:(

Ford first. While the C-7 does look damn good, there are already plenty of GM shells on the track. Need something to get away from the CaddI show.

dman18t 10-12-2016 08:11 AM

if you Ford guys would like to try the WGT-R version, I saw it 1st hand and looked great. only made one mod for it not to interrupt the style of the body.

Dman,
With all due respect, please go back through the thread and read Dale Epp's post
regarding licensure, etc.
