Ouch! I've had a problem with the foams breaking down before the tires do as well... hopefully they can address the issue since they are spec issued tires.

So they cost you $1 a run. I'd say you got your moneys worth. #NotJoking

I would have to agree. 20-25 runs out of a set of tires sounds great to me. The old X-Patterns would only last half that long and cost $10 more.

I see what you mean but compared to how these tires did on the grey carpet they don't last 1/2 as long no the new black carpet . before I had 3 sets built back back in 2013 and ran the 3 sets on Matt's usgt car(and mine ) till this past southern nationals so 5 national events and probably 15 club race days on 3 sets (and I ran one of those 3 sets almost as much) . just says how much the new carpet has changed things

I know this is comparing apples to oranges, but how many runs do guys running Mod TC get out of a set of tires? 1? 2?

On carpet mod 3 runs then they fall off slightly for then next 4 runs or so . but still they survive and are able to be ran for 6-8 runs with only a drop in lap times ... Not to mention at any large race your allowed to purchase 3 sets minimum ...
Now the ride tire is great but the insert is dying within 5 runs to where they are unpredictable in the corners and start making the car extremely difficult to drive and guess what ... Even at snowbirds your only able to get one set... Now like I said they were great on the old carpet but the new carpet we need more firm inserts

I like it when the tires get worn down that much. They are just getting perfect then. Looks like Exotek rims? Did you grind down the outer lip of rim? For what reason? I would also like to see them use a more durable insert. Would be worth an extra couple of dollars not to have this happen.

These wheels were premounts strait from Paul. All I did was glue sidewall and scrub in. Run 5 6 min races then cut open to reveal inserts condition

That is an amazing amount of tread wear for 5 6 minute races (looking at the piece of tire to the side of the car) . Has this happened on any other sets of tires? Just wondering if it was a bad set.
