The Cadillac body works great on high bite carpet. I've been running one since they came out at The Gate which has a very competitive USGT class. Really looking forward to The Southern Nats in Nashville in a couple of weeks and The Halloween Classic.

Glad to hear the Cadi likes carpet. It is not a happy camper on a small/low bite parking lot layout. #LooseAsAGoose.

The wing is also cut down to the 10mm line. Really works well!

Are you bringing your FF car to the Southern Nationals?

Yessir. At this point, I have more time on it then if I tried to swap to a spare TC chassis, so it's what I am running. 13.569 was my fastest lap with it last weekend which is slower then VTA by a decent margin. 12.9 was the fastest USGT lap of the 3 of us there running them on Sat, but I had consistency somewhat on my side. Battery placement will be critical and as traction changes we'll see. By comparison, my fast lap with my 17.5 TC was 11.950 and I find the USGT to usually be about a second a lap slower, so its still off pace even for me. Only got 7 packs on the TC, and 4 on the GT for the day. The downside of a super light and very temperamental battery in the GT hehe. I would like to mess with gearing more also. Currently around a 3.5 FDR, and I honestly liked the feel better around a 3.3, but the old layout wasn't as friendly to that low of an FDR.

I know he will.... I also know when he does his test and tune days, he puts in real work so I know that all his cars will be fast. Hey Orcadigital, I'm looking forward to our rematch buddy....

Looking forward to running with you as always Will! Fast is relative, but I am there to have fun! Plus I know Dirla just loves making fun of the poor Scirocco and who am I to deprive him of that joy...

We run a USGT type class and I just painted up a McAllister Jag XKR body. I run the Caddy body in a similar class and it works good, will be interested to see how the Jag works, definitely looks more slippery than the Caddy.

Several of the guys at The Gate have been running the new McAllister Mustang body and really like it.

I'm in the market for a new battery for USGT. Which battery does everyone prefer?

DARKSIDE 09-10-2015 01:44 PM

I recently tried our new Reedy LiPo 6000mAh 70C 7.4V Competition Battery....its less weight than the 7000 and more punch than the 5000...its a good medium for me and my TC6.2

I run that Jag body and I really like it. Yours looks great.

The Caddy worked great for me last weekend, though I was running the regular touring car class because my friends didn't inform me of the limited gear ratio ahead of time. On a small medium grip parking lot layout it didn't seem to give up anything to the traditional touring car bodies.

Since there was discussion of what bodies we'd like have I'd like to suggest that someone make the latest generation Miata. The Miata is the most raced real car on the planet and it's about time someone made one in 1/9th scale (it's a small car so 1/9th) should be just about right. I am biased as I run a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata on open track days and will be hitting Laguna Seca early next month.

I have been very satisfied with the SMC 6500. It's reasonably priced, too:

I'd like to have a Ginetta G12 body for USGT. And I guarantee I'm the only one, so no one will ever make it. But there is still a much better chance that someone will make a G12 body for an RC car, than the chance that I'll ever own a real G12.

Ooooh, you're not the only one. :)

Although I could go for a G60, too. ;)

I'd also like a KTM X-Bow GT4, while we're at it.

We have a pretty good GT series going on locally, and this body has been my favorite so far: Protoform PFM-10

Yes, I finished second last week to a McAllister MX Stang body. Of course, it was the guy driving the car that really beat me! But that Stang body looks great and works great too.
