The GM has them built into it's PCB but they are huge compared to all the others.

I have been running the sp speedos for a while now with NO cap at all. I have had no problems ever, maybe I will try to run with. Is there supposed to be more power?

Think its a mute point to worry about.
What happens when the KO cap fails or gets faulty ? send it in for repairs where as other makes you just replace.
A cap is definately advised as it keeps the esc running cooler and helps prevents voltage ripple/drop.
definately helps with punch too.
If you worried about looks then possibly look at chnaging the provided cap with a supercap that is slim. No matter which way you go you always have to juggle electronics to get a good fit.
Supercaps are available from Speedpassion and TOP Racing and maybe some other brands.

I agree with Sam-E. I hate external capaciters, i like the Ko and Orion because of the no external capaciter. I would much rather buy an LRP,KO,ORION or Speedpassion, even though the LRP and Speedpassion have capaciters i would still rather spend my money on them instead of Tekin Junk. Just my 2c

Another worthless post destroying a semi-worthless thread.
You people do realise some readers of RCTech are actually looking for advice don't you?
What ever happened to "if you don't have anything positive to say, don't say anything at all"?

That wont tell you much.
Even ESR meters can show obviously bad caps as good.
Look for a buldge in the top. If in doubt , replace it (they're cheap)
