Wheel nuts= 11/32's
Inserts--If your track is smooth and slick I would start with the med. and then try a soft. A hard insert should help if the track is high bite. Also, here where I race most of us run the TakeOff CS 27's which also has a med. insert. Plus they are cheap. Good Luck

Question

im running the 48pitch yellow spur, with a monster stock geared at something like 19 or 20.

no matter how tall or how low i gear the thing the motor comes off smoking hot, ive taken the diffs out and checked that the belt tensioner isnt too tight, and with no pinion on the motor the drivetrain spins fairly free.

is my gearing way off?
or is something else wrong here?

primusblowsgoat: Check to see if all your solder joints are good. If not then the wires are shorting and it has to work harder to produce the power its suposed to. This happened to me. I had a bad solder joint on my esc and i fixed it and my motor never ran hot ever again. You might also want to check for any binding in bearing or anywhere. You might also want to check if theres something wrong with the ESC it self. You might of shorted it out and increased the internal resistance. Hope this helps you.

RCknight: I dont think the JRXS shocks will fit the XXX-S. Im not 100% sure. Ask on the JRXS thread just to make sure.

JRXS shocks will fit because they are only smaller. You have to use the top shock mounts from the JRXS though, and maybe shock towers like the PRP Megatune so you can raise/lower the shocks on the shock tower.

And I already got with primusblowgoat and discussed it with him, he was running the blue belt and it was too tight and also he has to degrease his bearing, it is a common problem with the car, when you don't know it too well.

the 9's are the graphite versions, the others are plastic
the rear '9' arms have the offset mounting holes for the o/s hubs

No the XXXS are longer. If you only want to run the regular hex drive wheels then I would get the conversion kit made be RPM for the Street Weapon. It comes with the larger size hex's and the proper offset to run the more common wheels out today.

Brant
If you look at RPM site then youll see that the car will then be 200mm and as such, is not eligable to race! Just in case you are wanting to race it!

Did you set the tweak by adjusting the spring collars as per the tuning tips on the losi site?

Cup,

After setting tweak, I sometimes have to readjust f/r ride heights by raising or lowering the shock collars by equal amounts at both ends of the car. It's best to check tweak again after doing so.

Post tweak

Losi_g+: Yes, I,m adjusting using the threaded collers.

JRX-S Bill: I tried doing that but after readjusting the ride height the car needs to be tweak again.

I have a sway bar installed on the front should I remove it when setting tweak.

Thank for you help

How much is the ride height differing by when youve set the tweak?
If you remove the sway bar it will give you accurate tweak on both sides but when you refit it to race, the sway bar may affect the tweak on one side more than the other. I always leave mine on!

Do you know what the swaybar is actually doing FOR you? If not, remove it altogether because you can reinstall it when you are looking for a different handling feature.

An alternative is to lay the swaybar on a flat surface (glass?) to determine if it is bent. You don't want a bent bar.

I get more handling attributes out of springs, shock oil, droop, shock angles, caster, camber, etc. than from a swaybar.
