Anybody know which front castor blocks are included in the XXX-S Graphite Conversion Kit?

Probably the same that comes in the kit. Sorry I don't know what degree that is though. They have part numbers for 2 and 4 degree though so I would assume it is 0 degree. Man, I hate to assume.

Does any one know if the MR4-TC shocks will fit the XXX-s?If so how much trouble is the setup on it?Also will the Pentegon shocks fit?

Losi released the threaded bodies for the stock shocks. They're pretty cheap (I paid $15 per pair) and they fit perfectly.

Mark, Thanks for the reply. The pic at your site shows the Graphite Conversion Kit with 2 sets of front castor blocks. Are both 0 degree carriers?

That is a good question. I dont have the slightest idea. Assuming that they MIGHT be 2/4.

Just a heads-up... The shock bodies shown at that link are shorter bodies for use on the front end only. For the rear, you'd still use the threaded bodies form the Street Weapon, part number is A-5053.

Both Associated and Yokomo shocks should fit. You'd have to change the upper shock mounting bushing to an Associated, but otherwise you should be fine.

Dave Kurschner mentioned earlier in this thread that he was using Associated shocks on his XXX-S, scroll on back a ways and you'll find it.

I read that you use Alu screws in the Losi. Which company makes these srews? I've heard about a Kinwald set, but this is again not available here in the Netherlands. Are there any others?

Indeed I am one of the XXX-s pioneers here, but have already convinced my LHS owner that it's the best and he now drives the car as well. A lot of other drivers here at the races look intrested as well!

Yes, I mounted up a set of threaded TC3 shocks and moved all of the suspension settings around to see how well they would apply in all situations. Then I mounted up a set of Yokomo shocks to do the same thing.

The Yokomo shocks are just about the ultimate shock for this car. The shock bodies are significantly shorter than the TC3 shocks, they have bleeder screws on them, and the shock shafts are shorter as well. For very little additional cost, go pick up the TC3 shock bottoms and spring cups, and the little top shock mount that goes on the long screw. Whether you use the Losi shocks or not, the TC3 shock bottoms are far superior to the losi ones. They will hold much better, they are easier to modify if needed, and they will bolt right onto the Losi ( or Yokomo for that matter) shock shafts. And the Losi shock retainer fits on them perfectly if you still choose to use Losi's shocks for this car. For the front shocks, you'll want to take the TC3 shock bottom and cut about .150" or .2" so the shock retainer sits slightly lower. Now use TC3 springs. They have a better selection and spread of spring tensions and they fit almost perfectly. Depending on what batch your TC3 springs came out of, the id of the spring varies with the paint thickness. Most of my TC3 springs slide perfectly onto the Yokomo shocks. I had one pair where I had to take an exacto knife and scrape away the paint on the inside of just the top coil of the spring for a looser fit. All in all, this modification and the Yokomo shocks are worthwhile to do on the XXXS for sure
