Losi 1" Springs
Does anybody know a place where I can order 1" Losi springs? My LHS refuses to re-order springs until they sell the current stock of 1.15" ones, and since the part numbers are the same, they won't special order it for me (since they are afraid of getting the older 1.15" style).
It sounds dumb, I know. heh

Yodace- Losi's site does not list them and the Horizon web site lists A-9970 for the steel ones but not the alm. I know they are avail because my LHS has them on the wall.

Trying to get this car finished. I hate to mailorder and I have 6 LHS in a 10 mile radius but they carry very few XXX-S hopup parts so mailorder may be the route to go.(had to go to 4 just to round up just 4 5x8 steering bearings yesterday!)
I know this has been asked before but can't find it on search.
Do you need the short threaded shock kit(.28) for outdoor asphalt/concrete or is it mainly for indoor carpet? Or can I just stick with the threaded .36 bodies on order? Also someone mentioned just cutting the collar and some other mod on the front shock
Cannot find the Losi 1" springs around here. The stock purple seem stiff as ****. Will the TC3 springs work? They appear to be 1".
Sorry for the ?. Ancient 1/12 carpet racer and new to TC and asphalt racing.
Setup: starting out stock adjustments,springs,chassis,P2K2 pro,,R3K 3000s,Cyclone TC,XR3,90t spur24,5,6,27t pinions,40 wt oil,steering bearings,5625MG digital.

I run associated springs on my XXX-S. I used the lower spring cups from some old associated TC3 shocks and everything works fine. I run associated springs on all my touring cars (and I have a lot of them) maybe because I know all the rates by heart and I got a pile of them laying around Oops, on some cars I had to run my exacto knife around the inside of the spring to remove the paint so they would fit over the upper collars but I dont remember if I had to for the Losi.

what kind of spur do you guys run 64 or 48 pitch? Which one is better for indoor carpet? Got the stock one on right now. Is teller number better for speed?

yodace,
many racers use 64 pitch on carpet because it makes your car a little more efficient. on carpet that is. I use 48 because I run on asphault also and I dont want to buy all those extra pinions. I personaly dont think there is a need for 64 pitch, but some people do. If your only running the car on carpet, then go with 64.

I was given (2) 1.125 turnbuckles instead of the 1.375 ones for the rear.(step 46) Anyone else had this problem? Maybe the LHS will have a replacement.
