Setup Software for Mobile Phones (Iphone)
Hi Guys,
Would people be interested in an IPhone app that managed your car setups.
Im a software developer by trade, and have been looking at something like this.
Features would be:
1) Create Base setup from downloadable setup's from a website. (Select your car and it will download the current configuration of the car)
2) Show Photos,Pictures of where each Setting is on the car. Camber would be a photo of the car from the back, toe-in would show a birds eye view from above, caster would be from the side.
3) Or if manufacturer's are keen, i could show a true 3D model of the car, that was used for manufacturing, showing where the settings are and what each does, and you can rotate the car around in 3D showing ever part of the car.
4) record each setting change with a date-time stamp so that you can scroll through the changes you have made over time.
5) SMS,Txt setting to other drivers.
6) Compare settings with the Social Network of other drivers...what tires are good for what track, FDR, ESC settings..ect. Over time this could be the Base setup for each type of car/track.
7) Be able to store race times and match them to car settings.
Any thoughts...im keen to know how many of you guys out there have an IPhone, and would you us something like this.
cheers,
David Norden

each car had it own custom picture then people should be be able to only download the cars they need, otherwise the program could get pretty massive. team xray has pdf setup files that you can fill in the blank on your computer

Yup
I use GearIt and Cross Weight on my iPhone and find them very useful.
I carry a little 3 x 5 notebook to the track and log in my changes and the result. It's less than perfect, but it keeps everything in a small format. I can flip back to previous races to look for info, but it's time consuming. It would be great to have a "Race Day Log" where you could start with your base setup for the day and then track your changes along with performance info such as "turns in better" and a lap time.
I don't know if it needs to have fancy graphics as much as it needs to have useful trackside information. For example, if I entered "very loose" I would be shown a variety of choices to try.
The ability to share information with with a computer program (and other racers) would be a great feature. You could easily collect information in the heat of battle and then review it back at the shop while sipping a cold one.
I think you could get a few customers on this site
