Anybody mounted a HPI ford focus body up? A team AON btcc replica would be awesome!

A few questions on this car also -

Anybody running Jaco blues on carpet with the ff03? How does it run?

The local carpet track runs 17.5 open esc on jaco blues only. Would there even be a point in trying this car out in tc?

Hey you FFers,

I've seen a couple of your FF03s with swaybars.

Tom Slick, I saw you had em on at Tamiya
also noticed that Lee had em on at Cal Raceway, actually talked to Don and Lee while there but neglected to ask about the swaybars or even take note of the colors that were chosen front and rear.
Lee's car looked good, if anyone can find out about their choice that would be great.

Any info would be cool cuz I should have my set in the next couple days.

Thanks Speedtech! They are on top of the Tamiya parts scene like no one else.

Okay, this question may have been asked. But where does this chassis fit into a normal Sunday club race? Would it be competitive enough for stock 17.5? Or RCGT? And does Tamiya have plans to fit this car into next years TCS series since it has such a big following already?

I bought a x-evo for my m-chassis and love it, so having this and being able to race it would nice.

I can see the FF03 being a decent chassis for running higher turn motor classes against awd tourers. It will have a disadvantage off the line and out of the corners on dusty or slippery surfaces, obviously. The lower wight will be an advantage if there is no minimum enforcement.

As for TCS, Tamiya Canada already has an FF03 class, so I'm sure the US isn't far behind.

On another note, does anyone have a photo of the new civic body coming out?

will the HKS Opel vectra body fit this chassis? I have one that needs some use.I have two of the idemitsu and castrol civics which I'd prefer to run instead of the HKS so I ask out of curiosity.

I have a issue with the diff on my FF03, it seems the plastic t-nut for the diff does not seat down far enough in the diff outdrive. This causes the dogbone on the passenger side to not have any back and forth play (no little foam either). Its binding the suspension travel and steering as a result.

The t-nut should seat further down i'm assuming? Should it be pretty much seat close to the bottom of the dogbone-pin slot of the outdrive?

I had a similar problem trying to run 46mm swingshafts, so I had to go to 44mm shafts to get enough clearance. Others have had no issues. I could not find anything I did wrong in assembly and rebuilt it several times.

But I found a really good solution, at least when you are running the aluminum outdrives. Use the 416 diff nut/screw set. It's a shorter screw and the nut fits nice and flush, so I can run 46mm shafts all day now.

RCHR, try to flip sides with the nut/spring assemble and screw/thrust bearing. Perhaps that will solve your clearance issues.
