Just got back into RCs after a long hiatus. This platform looks fun! I'm going to order some of the Accord Aero body when it hits tower hobbies, been waiting for someone out there to repro some 96-97 Accord bodies... To my knowledge, I bought the LAST 96-97 HPI Accord body in north america from a hobby store on ebay that had it laying around in their warehouse...

How's this class? Are FWD popular as the 4WD TCs?

i think i geared 65/40 (trinity duo2 13.5, timing on motor turned down to the second last notch)

hobbywing extremestock with 528 firmware and max boost on almost everything
will be alot better with a newer firmware for sure

Just missed my FF-03 Pro too much, so I had to order me the new R model!!! Gonna run it with a HW Xerun 120 and a Novak Ballistic 13.5 at our small indoor track... Suggestions on god start point for a 13.5 blinky with a 20m straight?

As I just bought a ff03 and have owned the pro version before. I'm wondering if the steering slop is better on the new R model with carbon plastic, or is it still crap and has to be replaced with aluminum parts???

Need CVDs badly now, can't run for more than a few corners before the dogbones pop out under suspension load and steering angle. Tried using O-rings in the outdrives to pack them out but no luck. How long do they need to be?

Hey everyone. I am looking to get back into the RC world. I had TL01 chassis (R34 Calsonic Skyline) from years ago as my first kit car. I had the stock motor, ESC, ball bearings, some carbon parts, and modified the gear ratio and drivetrain. These mods really enhanced the performance and I ended up with a lot of wheel spin which was quite fun. Once the battery level dropped, I had less power and more traction. I never raced it, just drove it on my street for fun.

I am looking at the FF03R and love the quality and hop up parts already included in the kit. I will be transferring my 27T motor, ESC, and servo from the TL01 to use as a start. Will I be disappointed with a 2WD car vs another choice such as the TA06 Pro? (TA06 Pro is similar to a FF03 Pro since it lacks a lot of the carbon parts) Remember, I am not competing with the car and I am used to a TL01 handling/performance if you want to call it that

Will the FF03R setup feel faster than my TL01 shaft driven 4WD? I know the handling will definitely be an improvement. Or should I just go with a TA06 pro and forget about the carbon parts?

the ff03r will put a big smile on your face

the ta06 dont...

ff03r will perform right out the box, easy to drive, just pure fun

the ta06 require alot of hopups to be competitive, just look in the ta06 thread..sold mine after testing it briefly, it will be costly

A few more newb questions. I read that Pro kits in the past would come with white wheels however this kit doesn't include them. I assume I should be getting some type of slick tires with foam inserts? Hardness depends on driving/track conditions?

Does the kit come with shock or differential oil? Are they the same type of oil? I wouldn't know what weight I would require for my type of use.

Also, what is the high torque servo saver I keep hearing about? I couldn't find anything good searches on this topic.

reporting in with my FF03. here's what I've done thus far.

- Turnigy TrackStar 13.5T sensored motor (silver)
- Hobbywing Justock 45A ESC
- 2x Turnigy Nanotech 5300mAH 50C
- Blue springs up front, Yellow Springs behind
- Yellow anti-sway bar up front, red anti-sway bar behind

Handles pretty well with decent speeds. I'm still on stock gearing as I have no idea about gearing at all

i own and drive both an FF03 and TA06... love both for the spec races i got them for... for bashing around i'd go with the ta06 though...
