i can take a pic of the tcx diff in my cyclone TC tonite when i get home from work..

but basically, i used 2 packages of the Z892 (10x12x.2mm) shims (that's 20 shims total) on each diff...then just balance as needed

there will be some wobble in the diff, but i don't know how this will effect performance in the long run

I found the spec-r diff online. Anyone know where to find and part number for the blades?

Default Upper camber links

Hey,

Ive recently been running the 2 degree toe blocks ff and fr and have noticed the car being very snatchy on the front. I have also been running 4mm spacers under the front and rear camber links to get rid of grip roll?

Does anyone know the main handling effects of raising or lowering the upper camber links. I know it mainy affects the amount of camber change and slighlty changes the roll center.

Any thoughts??

Try 1mm under the front blocks instead of 1.5mm. I wouldnt use 4mm under the camerlinks as the car will lean on the outside edge of the tire too much. Go back to 2mm. Also, what wheelbase are you using on the front now? Try a shorter front wheelbase, so 1mm on the back of the arm, and 2.75 on the front. And what ackerman shims and Knuckles are you using on the car?

Arn0, helped me setup a PDF setup sheet.
if you want take a peek.

It's what I've been using for a medium to high bite carpet track.

Interesting setup. But why did you put 1mm shims under the front outer camber link? And why so much rear camber?

I drive a little different..but the setup just works for me...may not be for everyone..

with Jacos it's usually best to run a lot of camber, makes the car stick better.
if you're running other brand tires reduce the camber to
1 - 1.5 degree in the front
1.5 - 2 degree in the back.

1mm outer camber link....i was playing around with setup...put in 0 thru 1.5mm...and found 1mm to my liking.
another note is that my tires have not been overheating when running this setup.

Thanks for the quick reply. I run Sweep Xtreme Carpet tires and have noticed that they have a lot of side bite. I will have to try your suggestion about the camber.

Quick questions,

How wide is the ball socket of the stock Heavy Duty ball cups? And what's the chances of these http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...w-6mm-Thread-2 fitting the threads of the TCX parts. Just looking to eliminate the flop and play as much as possible so i'm willing to fork out a wad if you guys seen better ones.

Thanks

For the price of those you can get several different brands of ball cups to try out. Personally I like the HPI heavy duty ball cups and the RPM ball cups.

1mm under all toe blocks
4mm under all upper camber links
Front wheelbase, 2.75 front, 1mm rear
Rear wheelbase, 2 front, .75 rear
Rear hub, .75 front, 2 rear
4mm akerman
Front toe, 0
Rear toe, 3
Front camber- 1.5
Rear camber- 2
500 weight oil front
400 weight oil rear
1mm 3 hole pistons
Hpi Gold and silver springs
Front shock position, 1 on wishbone, 4 on tower
Rear shock position, 3 on wishbone 5 on tower
Front droop, 6
Rear droop, 5
1.4 front roll bar
1.2 rear roll bar
5mm ride height all round

I also glue the front tyre edge to help with grip roll......

use a softer front spring (pink)bigger holes in pistons (1.1-1.2) lay shocks down on front tower.

I change the ballend & links to TOP photon...pretty much super solid...do a search and i have a few pics posted on this thread.
slop is virtually eliminated and super easy to work on the car.

but if anyone wants bling try the AE TC6 Ti coated ball with the AE TC6 ballcups. super nice...my next purchase
