    had a similar problem with my schumacher, going crazy triyng to understand which was the cause...finally i got it..i had too much steering for the truck,
    almost every turn my back waa turning around,
    it was just one second to reduce streering to 80% and i was fast enought to decrease 3 seconds.
    allways try the easiest first!
  • Voodoo, here was my setup. I think we ran on the same track and series.

    - 40wt oil with HPI 2 hole pistons
    - HPI silver rear, Tamiya blue front springs
    - medium roll bars front rear
    - 3deg rear toe in
    - followed the Hara setup
    - negative steering expo and dual rate, depending on the grip
    - I do not put tire sauce on the front

    I think widening the rear lessens the side bite on that end and might worsen the situation. Try narrower rear or widen the front. See you this weekend, let's try to set it up. Or if you want to buy my car, even better

    think i found my set-up already... worked well last sat during practice. but i'm still thinking if i'll use the TCX or the other kit...

    not going to bkk...

    Dual rate - If your steering is set full 100% left / right, dual rate can lessen the travel (e.g. 80%). So less steering angle.

    Expo - Not all radios have this feature. You can adjust how fast / slow the steering reacts.
  • agno, what length are your rear universals that you use with the 3racing gear diff? 44 or 46mm?

    btw, might want to also try switching back to the ball diff when the traction goes up.

    With the gear diff.3 Racing you use 44, 46 are too long.
    On carpet I used the POM ball diff. with axle shafts 46.

    I have prepared one with 100,000 cps, but still I have not tried, could work well on carpet?

    Exponential is relation to the amount which your steering changes relative to how you turn your wheel. Instead of the steering on your radio and servo in your car changing at a linear (same) rate it changes at an exponential rate.

    IE. I think negative steering exponential mean initially when you turn the radio wheel the steering moves a small amount servo. The more you turn the steering off center the more and more the servo turns. So around the center of the steering the car is very docile but as you turn the wheel further left and right its gets more sensitive.

    Personally i do not like using exponentials as it can get to the point in the mid-upper band where the steering (or acceleration if you set it on your throttle) gets ever more sensitive.

    But to each their own.

    I run a gear diff in the front and a ball diff in the back on carpet (17.5 rubber). 200,000 is the lowest I've gone and have tried up to 500,000 with good results.

  • Just sharing in the excitement
    So I took my brand new TCX out to the local track this Sunday for the maiden run. Holy cow this car is rediculous. And wouldn't you know just my luck all the HB guys just happened to be there running. Those guys are amazing and so helpful. I am so glad I purchased the TCX just for that reason.

    I have owned (still do) HB off road cars and those guys as well have been helpful.

    To have the opportunity to have Hiro and Jared from HB give you support right there at the track is invaluable. They were so helpful even to a newb on road guy like myself. After one day I am addicted to on road. The adrenaline rush of even hitting your line on a couple of turns (I said I was a newb) is amazing.

    Well just thought I would share. Can't wait for next weekend.

  • Anyone have an extra set of the machined 1.1mm 3 hole pistons they want to part with (part#hpi 73524)? PM me if you do. Thanks!

    Or does anyone know if the Tamiya 3 hole pistons will work in the TCX shock?
