Hot Bodies TCX
#4711
The first time? Welcome to the TCX.. I think I did it 7 times already. Regardless of what others say, these parts that are made of graphite, are inherently brittle ESPECIALLY when it's cold out. You barely even have to tap any boards to do this. The same goes for the arms. I heard that if you "boil" them for a bit, they soften a little. I never tried this. I just switched to the "high traction" plastic arms and have not yet broken them after 20 packs.... however, it's the axle cups that started breaking.

Yep some of the TCX is brittle. I now run a Roche spool, Tamiya steel drive shafts and Pro 4 front arms. It's now strong as an Ox

Does anyone know if there are larger spurs (than 116-64) available for the TCX?

I've run HB chassis for a long time now (maybe 10 years), I've never manage to break a spindle like that!
I think that if you have to run with very low temperature, just avoid graphite loaded items, and look for full plastic spindles... If you go for aluminum, then you will break something else, like C-hubs...

Just a quick question. Still building my TCXX ...almost done.
I can't for the life of me find this part. Any help locating it would be appreciated.
OOPS wrong thread. Sorry guys. Headed over to the TCXX thread.

Where's a good reputable place to order the spec-r double joint cvd's and the gear diffs? Any info would be nice, hopefully I don't have to order from HK.

I found the cheapest was from spec-r direct ,
the diffs are junk
buy plenty of gears sets
you will need them ..
