I see cyclone knuckles break every race day, many

also I see many cyclone parts where the left is 1 degree and the right is .5 degrees, not accurate

I have not broken one Cyclone part, and I rail on the walls with the 4.0. Felt a couple TCX's. There nice. You will be fine on parts man.

the plastic parts from HPI are very good quality i reckon. more durable than Tamiya yet still have fairly good flex and less wear.

I was hanging out at the REEDY Race today and the HB crew said it will not be released until the end of August 2010.

Yeah, it seems to be longer than expected... ...We cannot do anything anyway so, let's try to be patient.

I confirm there's a slight toe-in angle difference on the Cyclone rear hub.
You can meet 0.5°/1° difference from left to right because the pin in the molding tool is not 100% normal to the wheel axis.
But you can get things ok using the right reamer on both hubs. Then the pressure socket screw on the suspension shaft will put everything in the right alignment.
Or you can choose the purple anodised alu hub too. But mind the suspension flex...

"I confirm there's a slight toe-in angle difference on the Cyclone rear hub."

That has always been a problem since day one. Most of us use the aluminum set to take away the slight toe angle. I hope they solve this with the TCX.

I see the Aluminum Rear Hub Carriers in 0° & 1°... what degree are the stock kit pieces?

zero is stock on the other Cyclones - don't know why they'd change it here, considering toe-in is really adjusted by the suspension parts, not in the rear hubs

Korey has an explanation of inboard and outboard rear toe here:

i realize that you can adjust toe in both places, but he did ask about the stock pieces.

I should have clarified my statement by saying that its limited toe-in adjustment in the hubs - the major adjustments are handled via the suspension blocks

:) its all good :)

Yes, my specific question was what degree are the stock pieces... thanks K.

The explanation by Korey was good info too... thanks for that cosmo.

Is there a release Date for the TCx

Or should we be waiting till after the World's before release?

Slideaway 06-02-2010 07:12 PM

I heard "End of July" but other people heard "End of August" during the Reedy race... So after the Worlds for sure.

Worlds is on 7/22? Not sure if that's right?
