Might as well ask this here instead of starting a new thread.

In South Africa we use the Tamiya Asia Rules for the local TCS. Where can I find the complete rule-book and why would Tamiya exclude the TRF41X chassis from this series of races.

HOLY SHIT! Thats my birthday and i have an aunt in japan that could get it for me i guess if i asked her to preorder one. Now is the decision of whether to get the cuda r3 or the evo iv.

I know one reason they exclude the 414 was because it was not able to except the silver and black can motors without cutting chassis!

This was done because the TRF414 was never developped by Tamiya and the rules at that time stated that limited parts would not be accepteble because not every partissipant could have them.

Actually EVO Iv would be better for you cuz you get a real gearbox protector compared to just tear-away polycarbonate cover for the R3

I just realized i could get a evo iv on july 1st but dont know how to read japanese so unless they come with english instructions i will have to wait like everyone else in the states.

All Tamiya kit manual in Japan included both English & Japanese.

Most don't run the diff covers on the R2/3 anyway. They can trap small debris whereas the open design just spits them out.

415 vs. EVO4 (weight)
 

The 415 seems to be quite a light car after you install the TI sauce...especially given the stiffness of the chassis.

Has anyone (Dave) seen the weight comparison between the two cars?

I would sure like to know before taking an EVO4 plunge.:sweat:

I got a message the EVO4 and the suspension ugrade kit for the EVO3 and 415 may use different wheel bearings. Something like 5x9 instead of the 5x11 bearings.
Anyone knows more in this direction? I think this wouldn´t be a good idea as those small bearings won´t work for very long. I had this with a Schumacher car some years ago.

I had a look at the pictures from the Shizuoka show and the hole for the bearings at the front uprights looked not that different to me than at the current uprights. But maybe you couldn´t really tell from the picture what size it is.

But at least the wheel axles will be shorter.
