2010 "IIC" INTERNATIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS IN LAS VEGAS
The IIC will be held on September 5-11th 2010.
Not that we want everyone to start thinking about September before Spring even gets here, but it is time to start planning for the 2010 International Indoor Championships “IIC”. In 2005 the IIC came on to the racing scene with the intention of bringing the best drivers from around the globe to the most exciting city in the world Las Vegas! Now in its 6th year as the premier on road event in the world the allure and excitement of Las Vegas continues to add to the excitement of the IIC. For the past 2 years the Riviera Hotel and Casino has been the home of the IIC and it will again host the event. Located right on the world famous Strip, the Riviera Hotel and Casino puts us right in the heart of all the fun and excitement that Las Vegas has to offer.
Something I have been trying to do for years now is get a poker tournament set up for us, Well after talking with the Poker room manager last year, we are all set!
Sept 5th IIC Poker Tournament, this is not some fake tournament. This will be the real deal held right in the Riviera Poker room with real dealers and for real money, This will only be open to IIC Participants and families.
Sept 6-11th Registration and on track activities.
Last years IIC was a tremendous success even with the economy being a difficult time for all of us. I went to the management of the Riviera to try and get the best rate possible for us for this years event. The staff at the Riviera have worked with us and gave us the best rates we have ever had for the IIC even better than back in 2005. This year the room rate will be $49 on Mon-Thur and $79 Fri-Sun, which is a great deal for us. Last year there were some problems when people booked their rooms through online sites.They were put in the old section of the hotel with rooms that had not been renovated. When you book with our group code, you rooms are reserved in the new renovated tower of the hotel that have absolutely beautiful rooms with great beds, large flat screen TV’s and just a wonderful room.
To book your room for the IIC call the Riviera at 1-877-535-5335 and use our group name INTERNATIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS to get the special rate. I compared the online sites to our rate and our rate is less expensive and you are guaranteed the new rooms.
As the world of RC continues to change and evolve, so will the IIC. We have always tried to stay on the cutting edge of technology and trends and this year will be no different. We all know that the current situation of speed control technology is something that is a difficult situation for our hobby. Please be assured that my lead tech official Jamie Tennies and I are working with the industry to find a fair solution to ensure that all racers are on a level playing field at the IIC.
We will again be doing online registration through our website at www.intchamps.com This will be on Sunday night June 6th at 8pm Eastern Time.
Many of you will be wanting to know the classes we will be running and rules and such. We are evaluating the current situation of racing and will list all the classes in due time. One class that we will run for sure is Amateur, this has been a true success since its inception 2 years ago and will always be part of the IIC. Again rules for this class and all others will be announced when finalized.
