FatDoggy and Losi Will

The ones used at the worlds were the other way around believe it or not. They seemed to work very well.
Never got a close look at Masami's car but I think he was running 'normal' tyres. The pictures of his car were after he had gone and rebuilt it for photos, which took a while, so he may have been running soemthing quite different (or not).
Those tyres would be hard to mass produce and they are dependant on only having a thin outer layer which makes their life quite short.

SLITZ 12th car

from TECH RACING in Japan. looks like it is a US standard 12th as far as parts, wheels, etc.

i like the 4 stand-offs for the cross plate. the name? who knows why......

Tech Racing makes their own TC's not available in the US?, but also make parts and conversions for other companies TC's. they were also the design master mind behind the Tamiya 415 which is like their own.

i haven't tried to contact them, but like RIEMON and XENON they probably have no interest in selling in our market. too bad, they have some killer stuff

If my diff is tight and it slips what is the problem?? I have had the problem since i got the L4..... I sanded the rings with 2000 grit, put a new spur in with 12 balls instead of 8 cleaned all the bearings and lubed the bearings..... It feels really smooth but when i run it on the track, it slips like crazy..... the only way I can get it not to slip is when its like a solid axle:confused:

It could be that the bearing that the gear is riding on is too wide....

nmt6789 02-21-2005 10:22 AM

I think I might try an unflanged bearing.......

stormperson 02-21-2005 10:24 AM

The Jaco wraps which were used at the worlds (Although i think only hara ran them, blackstock and lufaso got some of masami's special tires, or at least thats what rears they used). The innner layer is a hard very lightweight foam almost like a bumper material, which works in the same way that a hard insert would in dirt, it makes the spikes dig into the ground. The example that you have was the first batch where it had a thick layer, the newer ones, and there were some at the worlds as well, had a much thinner inner layer. The reason being is that alot of drivers, espicall blackstock like to cut their downs down very small, and with a large inside foam you couldnt do that. Thats also another possibly reason why they havnet been tried in sedan, since in sedan they cut there tires so small you wouldnt have enough diamter to shove a wrap between the foam and the rim.

As far as the black carbon fiber reflex chassis, those were special asphalt chassis that they also had at the paved nats as well, I felt them, and they were very flexable, they were also thinner as well, and i think they had a long wheelbase chassis in addition. I talked to a trinity driver and he said he actually prefered the stock chassis at the worlds. As far as flexy chassis's, masami also ran a flexy chassis with some cutouts at the worlds, hara runs a thinner chassis as well on asphalt.

Do you have a flanged bearing on the gear???? I've never looked to see how your diff is set up....

fast-ho-cars 02-21-2005 10:25 AM

the 12L4 diff is basically a IRS diff

so i would have to say from my experience with helping other racers at our track.....your build sequence is wrong or missing something/a part

nmt6789 02-21-2005 10:29 AM

Its not missing anything........ I've built it and rebuilt so many times I cant even count.........

nmt6789 02-21-2005 10:30 AM

Allan , I have a flanged on the spur gear

wiring receiver cells

Hello could someone explain me preferably with a scheme how to wire correctly receiver's cells with a speedo because I saw on sakke's car that he only uses 2 cells to power the receiver...
Do I have to unplug the red wire of the speedo?

Sorry for those question? i'm a newbie
