Old 12 th scale bodies

I found some cool but old GTP and car bodies for 12th scale. The Chevy GTP body looks killer than the others. You think old school is still good enough to compete with the newer bodies out there? Click here.

LRP Quantum Comp 2 ESC programming

For 1/12th scale stock at Stockton, I was using the 3-0-0 programming settings on my QC2 ESC; but, recently tried 5-3-3 settings with questionable results. Extra punch was welcome; however, I was losing too much speed while in the turns. Any comments from the 'peanut gallery'?

hi all,

i am new to 1/12 and have no idea.

I brought the whole Parma series of tires cos there are less choices so there is less confusion...lol

can anyone suggest what brand of tires are actually better..if at all.

Also...what servos do you pros use for 1/12. I cannot find any KO analog mini servos...so got a cheapy Hitec HS225MGBB...the specs are ok but is it actually good for racing?

Cheers

its amazing how trends go.

Everyone I race with is now doing 12th scale.

Well time to drop more cash in the career.

And yes i call it a career, cause who sends this much on a hobby.;)

Yup I'm joining the bandwagon. This class rocks! More racing and less maintenance. You have to worry about setup, diffs, and motor.

12L4 Questions

Hope one of you guys can help. I have an L4 and it's inconsistent. In one of my qualifiers the car was great. In the main, if I made a hard left or right the car's rear end just swung aroung for no reason. The funny part is that I did not change the setup from my qualifier to the main. Any ideas? The car was fine as far as tweak, ride height and tires. I just can't figure it out.

L3-L4

Got a question.Am converting my L3 front end over to the L4 one.The arm mounts are 0,5,and10 degree.Which is the stock/starting one to use?Had a quick look at someone's L4 and I could see they were not using the 0 degree ones, and he said it was setup as per the manual. Also, does the manual place the washers, one front, one rear to start? Thanks,Mario.

The L4 book shows 10* as starting setup. 10* will have more aggresive steering than 0*. For washers, it shows one on eash side to start with ( 4* caster I think).

take care
john

JohnB,Thanks.Any idea's about the 5 degree blocks? Are they an inbetween compromise between the 0 and 10 degree?or do they have different characteristics? Thanks,Mario.

Did you really use the 5-3-3 settings? I would check it and then try this: 5-3/5-0. The first setting is the punch. The 5 settings is very good for 1/12 stock. The second setting is the rate at which the brake is applied. I suggest from 3 to 5 with stock motors. The third setting is the drag brake. Here you claim you are using 3. This is the third highest setting of drag brake the speedo will apply. That means the speedo is braking the speed of your car when you release the throttle to neutral. We don't do this. We run 0 so the car rolls into the corner when we let off the throttle. Making this change should make your car very driveable and easy to go fast.

Some guys put some pre-throttle into their speedo settings so the car rolls when the throttle is on neutral. You do this by settings in your transmitter, not on the speedo. Good luck.

Could be from the Tire Size decreasing. Or the amount of compound you put on. Sometimes too little in the front wont get you enough steering. Then again it could be the track itself but doubt it.

What compound tires are you using?
